@viking - It's the "Shady Camo" laminate. Black and Tan, I believe. @rbernie - I failed to weigh them separately, but the Boyds stock isn't noticeably much heavier than the factory Tikka lightweight stock. I was hoping it would be, but the Pachmyr should help with the recoil.

Mine's bone stock at the moment: T3 Lite Stainless in 7mm-08. Got a Boyd's stock on the way. Will post a photo when it gets in.

For what it's worth, after doing a bunch of reading and coming across almost nothing but universal praise, I went ahead and placed an order for a Boyd's Classic stock. Shady camo laminate and a Pachmyr pad. We'll see how it looks in a few weeks when it arrives.

Figured I'd bump this thread rather than starting a new one. Picked up a Tikka T3 and while I like so much of it, that stock has got to go. would love to hear more from folks who have used Boyd's.

And as a corrolary to my original question, is there any other way to get into a .280 Remington with a stainless action and stainless, heavier contour 24"/26" barrel? I don't want to spend $900 bucks if $3-400 of that is going just to the stock that I'll eventually replace anyway. I'm not...

You might be getting it confused with the G3. Them roller-lockers can smack a man around if he doesn't care for recoil.
