    College Auto Idea

Bersa Ultra Compact 9. Supposedly the best gun Bersa makes. Compact, uber-reliable, and can be had for < $400. Also, Glock 26. But it's $150 more, less concealable, and fairly bland. BUT, it's reliable and will do what you want it to when you want to do it.

    Bersa Thunder 380 Plus

S&B tends to be the problem child with the BT380 - not everyone has problems with it, but enough do that it's wise just to avoid it altogether. When there's an FTE or FTF issue with a Bersa 380, 90% of the time it comes down to: 1. Ammo (almost always S&B) 2. Limp wristing 3. Aftermarket (Mag...

    Bersa Thunder 380 Plus

hexidismal, sorry to hear about your troubles. I think your case is the rare exception, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating or disappointing for you. Your Bersa has a lifetime guarantee, so it might be worth your while to send it in for service.

    Corbon DPX squibs?

For certain calibers, DPX is the best show in town. That's why. gordonagain, IIRC there's a thread over at bersachat.com in the ammo section regarding a .380 DPX squib, although it was caused by the case bursting rather than a poor burn. That's the only DPX malfunction I've ever come across.

    Bersa Thunder 380 Plus

Fantastic gun - accurate, easy to shoot, FUN to shoot, and reliable as can be. As has already been said, the "Plus" is a double stack version of the Thunder 380, so she may want to stick to the regular or CC versions.

Let's have a candid conversation about GLOCKs.

How would you compare the 26 and 36 from a concelability standpoint? I've found the 27 to be too fat for CC and I'm hoping the single stack 36 will be easier to conceal - true or false?

Let's have a candid conversation about GLOCKs.

I really only have two complaints: 1. Terrible tactile feedback. There's very little travel and feedback with the mag release, and the take-up point for the release is very late in the travel. I find that I have to hit it twice to drop the mag. Also, when inserting a mag, there's no satisfying...

    .380 quandary

My Bersa is fairly new but I've been giving it a heavy work out. Several hundred rounds without a single hiccup. It's not as pocketable as a p3AT or LCP, but I can put 100 rounds through it and it'll be as accurate and comfortable to shoot on #300 as it was on #1

How are the bersa compact firearms?

The 9 and .40 are not blowback designs, iirc. I've often heard Bersa aficionados say that the UC9 is the best gun Bersa makes

    Tomcat 32 ACP for Carry?

Keep thinking that. Just because the law allows you the right to use "lethal" force (which, by the way, does NOT mean you have a blank check to kill your attacker) doesn't mean the particular circumstances of your shooting won't be a factor in determining whether to prosecute you. And that's...

    380 ammo on sale

I'm more concerned about who signs for my packages than who delivers them. ;)

Newb seeking opinions on .40S&W compacts

I just got back from the range. I rented a G27 and put 50 rounds through it. I couldn't keep it consistently centered for the life of me - everything was pushing left. Could be that I couldn't control it with the short grip, could be that the sights were off, but it could also (likely) be...

If you buy online, will the UPS boxes have any sticker or label identifying them as containing live ammo?

Newb seeking opinions on .40S&W compacts

I did. For most manufacturers - at least those I listed - the 9mm and .40S&W are the exact same gun, just chambered for the different rounds. They are also usually priced exactly the same. So if they're the same size, the same weight, have the same ergonomics, and cost the same, why not go for...

Newb seeking opinions on .40S&W compacts

Funny you should say that, since I noticed yesterday after posting that the G33 is selling for slightly less than the G27 ;) Dimensionally (i.e., on paper) those guns aren't much larger than my 380. Of course, there's a lot more to concealability than LxWxH. As far as working with the Bersa...

    Help for My Old Man

As has already been said, let him try a few things out and find which is right for him. That said, I think the Bersa 380 is a great starting point - it's not TOO small, it's well balanced, it's light enough to carry but heavy enough not snap, it's accurate, it has a lighter DA pull than a...

    Your Guns That Didn't Work

I have nothing to contribute to this thread - I just think it's funny that the video in your signature is of one of my law professors! I love that lecture and share it as much as I can.

Newb seeking opinions on .40S&W compacts

Hey folks! I stumbled upon this site a couple of weeks ago while researching my first handgun purchase and I was impressed with level of knowledge and discourse here, so I just joined. Here's the quandary I'm in - I just bought a new Bersa Thunder .380 last week because it was far and away the...
