    what does everyone else have

I own a Colt King Cobra, and a Colt Python, both 4" Barrels, the Python is blued. I also have a Colt 70 series government model, and a Glock 30 which is what I carry. I also had a Glock 19 which I had to sell to a friend. I've owned in the past a S&W Model 29 4", Para-Ordnance 4" 1911...

Reality vs Fantasy: the case for .22 Carry

I don't carry my gun for "Deterrence". If I am in a situation where my gun is drawn, its because I am absolutely positive if I don't use it, I or someone else I care about will be killed, or seriously injured. If I need deterrence, I've already screwed up by not escaping a potentially hostile...

SC: Woman Killed In Random Attack

I definately agree that above all else, your mindset is the most important tool you can have to protect yourself, and your loved ones. Thankfully these types of encounters aren't very common, but unfortunately that means awareness about them isn't as widespread as it should be, IMO. These...

U.S. judge backs ATF multiple rifle sales reporting

How about a law which restricts the ATF's ability to sell weapons to Cartels and then lose them?

Ohio bans right to bear arms for misdemeanor crimes of drug possession

I don't object to restricting convicted Felons from legally owning firearms, particularly violent felons. I'm aware that the criminal has no regard for laws, including ones about them possessing firearms, but I'm sure there are some felons who out of fear of legal retribution, avoid being near...

    Revolver for Home Defense?

I just love the look and feel of a revolver. Definately go with a .357 or .44 with snake shot if you live in the south. recoil and flash can blind you in a dark room otherwise.

    Minimum caliber for dog protection

I think the minimum caliber for "dog protection" is somewhere around heavy club and large rock. You're seriously going to shoot someone's dog? and then possibly the dog's owner if they react unfavorably? Killing animals is one of the 3 signs of a potential serial killer, you know.

    Colt python vs s&w 686.

Theres always going to be a differing opinion. I've shot a 7shot 686 4" and I own a 4" 1981 blue python, aswell as a 4" king cobra. I don't think you can compare the 686 to the python. I think its fair to compare it to the King Cobra, and I've heard of the stories of the colt factory strikes...

    Microstamping in NY

Its also effortlessly defeated by simple capturing your bullet casings in a bag ala Mr. Brooks or just using a revolver. What a worthless and backwards law. I hope you NYers dont have to deal with that.

How long does it take you to get to a loaded gun?

You know some of the replies here elevate people to "gun nut" levels. Is your home in such a dangerous place you can't take a piss without a gun strapped to your hip? I guess some people take the "Better to have it and not need it" way of thinking to different heights...

45 acp vs 357 mag: The Rebar Theory

being pierced by rebar isnt the same as being shot by a bullet. bullets are more or less orbs of lead flying at varying velocities rebar is cylindrical steel used in construction. I don't personally give much credit to hydrostatic shock, but I do believe in wound cavitation, which is more...

    Civil Suits in Florida

I'm a bit confused, isn't showing the judge what the statute says enough for them to dismiss any civil suite against you? it says right there if you are in a legit SD shooting you're immune to criminal and civil action. If you're not charged with, nor convicted of unlawful use of force, surely...

Colt revolver if you can't afford a Python

well 6 months ago I'd say King Cobra, but they seem to be selling for only 100$ less than shooter pythons. I heard the Colt MK III is a very reliable .357 though I can't say from personal experience.

Searching for Gunsmith to work on Colt Python

FWIW bought a 1981 4" blued python that was the guys duty gun, he said he carried it for several years and only used +p .38s but from what I can tell, the lockwork is as perfect as the day it was created. I've only taken it to the range once but 100 158g .357 rounds went off without issue...

    A good Knife sheath maker?

Hello, I've ordered about half a dozen Throwing Knives from H&B forge (I love the old style look of the knives) and I am considering having them make a massive sheath to hold all six knives on my left side, stacked 3 knives wide 2 knives deep. My question is do any of you all know of any...

    G26- 9mm Carry Ammunition

I just ordered a G19 yesterday. (my hands are large and it is almost the same size as my G30) I'll have to try some of the ammo mentioned here.

    Colt or kimber?

the only complaint is they stopped making them. Colt defender, or a combat commander. Kimbers aren't worth the price in my opinion.

    I'm looking for a .357 revolver. Suggestions?

Save up and buy a used king cobra for 600-700, or get a ruger gp-100 for 400-500. I prefer 4" barrels. either of those guns will out live you and your children.

    Backup weapon.

I carry a Glock 30, its true that it is fat, but as far as length and height, its similar to a 7 round .380 and holds 9-10 rounds of .45acp. true a micro gun like the lcp is smaller, but I'm a tall guy with large hands.

My New Little Carry Gun Glock 39 .45Gap Sub Compact

I love my g30 for ccw in any climate. You'll love yours too, im sure. I don't think you'll enjoy the GAP ammo though... its really rare and quite a niche ammo, at least thats what I've seen.
