    Restoring Calm after Casing

We get the magazine sales kids around here, too. It's a pseudo-legit business. They lie to confuse you and get you to buy magazines, but are not necessarily burglars. They typically travel the country and are out of town in a few days.

Should you not "Store" your revolver

While this certainly may be true, I feel that Ironclad is correct in addressing the issue with his firearm storage methods. I have always done the same. I have read somewhere (on this site, I believe) that when an unchambered round cooks off, the bullet itself travels only a few feet with...

    Kalashnikov Picture Club

Here's mine ;-) This is real, I finished it this weekend. The AK geometry is a bit off, as preserving the reference points of the violin were a bit more important. Total cost: $40.

    Initially: Carry handle, or BUIS?

Is this a Spike's gun? Their pricing is the same. I got the BUIS. Glad I did when I put a red dot on it.

    AR Iron Sights

I just got a Spike's mid-length AR. Haven't been able to shoot it yet because weather's not cooperating :banghead:. Hopefully soon... It has the Samson flip-up rear sight and I installed a Tru-Glo red dot. How do I adjust elevation on the iron sights? I see the windage adjustment on the...

    New AR Question

I just got a Spike's mid-length AR a few days ago. I have no experience with anything from the AR platform, and have never even shot one. I was looking over it, and noticed a bit of slop between the upper and lower receivers. Is this normal/OK? Does it impact accuracy in any way? Thanks!

    .22 Conversion Kit for AR

I've seen the .22 conversion kits, and they seem like a neat idea. I'd really like to be able to buy 1000 rounds for $30 instead of $400. That said, does the .22 cause the same wear on the barrel that .223 does? I could see going through 3000 rounds of .22 pretty quickly. If this is the...

    Transfer Question

I know a woman who's husband recently died of cancer. He owned several guns, and her son is teaching her to shoot for self defense. This made me wonder, if the firearms were registered to her husband, and he died, does she have to re-register them under her name? How does that work?

    Carbine vs Mid-length AR

Alright, thanks guys. It's the middy for me.

    Carbine vs Mid-length AR

OK, I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I didn't really see any posts directly answering these questions. I'm going to be buying an AR here in a week or so. The 2 choices are the Spike's Tactical LE Carbine ($800) or the ST LE Mid-Length ($810). Which should I get (price...

Is armalite the best value going on right now?

I'm in the same boat you are, looking for an AR. I was looking at the Armalite, and someone here told me about Spike's Tactical. I've read nothing but good things about them, and at $800, that's probably what I will be buying here in a few weeks.

    Dealing with non-continuing assaults

I've actually seen that video (and was quite impressed by husband/boy friend). I would agree that a gun is not appropriate in this situation. Honestly, I would have done exactly what he did (if only I could). I think there is a difference between being spit on and being hit. The slap I...

    Rifle Longevity

Believe me, I'd love an M1A, or an FAL for that matter. But they're a bit out of my price range. So how does the Spike's Tactical compare to, say, a Bushmaster? They're the same price at $800.

    Rifle Longevity

That's what I wanted to hear. I didn't really figure that time would realistically do much to a well-kept rifle, and it's good to hear that from somebody else. I won't be wearing out anything through use for quite a while (especially if it's the M1 with the price of ammo being what it is).

    Rifle Longevity

I guess I should add that this is mainly for HD and SHTF, so replacement parts may not be widely available (or if bans are instated and parts become more scarce). And on the M1, it would probably be a CMP service grade.

    Rifle Longevity

I'm looking at buying my first rifle here pretty quickly (well, probably a rifle). Right now, the two main contenders are an M1 Garand and a Bushmaster AR15 carbine. This is NOT another "which is better" questions. This is about longevity. Assuming proper maintenance and light usage...
