I bought one new in 1981 or so. Excellent value. Still have it. Over 40,000 rounds through it. They were not considered posh guns....the gun writers would always pick the S&W over the Trooper in any discussion/test. But the Troopers were cheaper than the guns they were compared to.

Lots of feedback in this post - and here's one more;
All I shoot out of my Glocks is lead. I cast them, and I buy them. I do have jacketed bullets - but those are strictly for carry.
Specifically, I cast 9mm, 40S&W and 45ACP. (G17, G23 and G21)

Zoning,
Years ago lots of firearms were finished "in the white", meaning no blue at all. If you are religious about keeping your rifle oiled, then bead last is an option. Consider a flat coating as well.

I purchased a Parker Hale bolt action rifle whilst I was stationed in Germany. It came from the German distributor Frankonia Jagd <still in business>
It was a VERY mediocre rifle
Chambered for 30-06
Was NOT a Mauser 98 Interarms clone
Was built around a Springfield 03 series bolt...
I've got a picture in my archives of one of our FTs' on Swim-Call Shark Watch with a M-14. We had 1911A1s, and pump shotguns. This was 1978-1984 on a east coast Boomer.
Guys that hand been on other boats mentioned some had Thompsons.
My "Repel Boarders" station was M-14 Pier Aft on one...

See how crudely the insert forms and supports the...
I have a rather old example of a 25-2 - and it is probably the most accurate handgun I own. Back when I would go to 'board shoots' or "turkey shoots', I considered this gun as cheating. I also used it for bowling pin shoots, in the revolver class.

Boomer submarines back in my day were stocked with M-14s, 1911A1s, and Pump shotguns, mostly 870s. We were happy with them.

Mine is a Moutrie as well. Not sure of the model number. It's a couple years old, so I imagine any current Moutrie model would better it.
Not sure if this will work; should be a video of a couple lads jostling for seniority.

I'm well impressed by the variety of odd/rare weapons.
Meanwhile, my only entry in the competition would be my Irwin-Pedersen M1 Carbine. Rarer than rocking-horse poo...:)
