Colt Trooper MkIII: Yea or Nay?

I bought one new in 1981 or so. Excellent value. Still have it. Over 40,000 rounds through it. They were not considered posh guns....the gun writers would always pick the S&W over the Trooper in any discussion/test. But the Troopers were cheaper than the guns they were compared to. This...

    Glocks and Lead

Lots of feedback in this post - and here's one more; All I shoot out of my Glocks is lead. I cast them, and I buy them. I do have jacketed bullets - but those are strictly for carry. Specifically, I cast 9mm, 40S&W and 45ACP. (G17, G23 and G21) Ray

1970's era Rem 700 ADL questions.

Zoning, Years ago lots of firearms were finished "in the white", meaning no blue at all. If you are religious about keeping your rifle oiled, then bead last is an option. Consider a flat coating as well. Ray

    US Navy Small Arms 1970s

I've got a picture in my archives of one of our FTs' on Swim-Call Shark Watch with a M-14. We had 1911A1s, and pump shotguns. This was 1978-1984 on a east coast Boomer. Guys that hand been on other boats mentioned some had Thompsons. My "Repel Boarders" station was M-14 Pier Aft on one...

    Best handgun you ever fired?

S&W Model 25 in .45ACP. Colt Gold Cup in .38 Special. When target shooting, either of these two is like cheating. Ray

    Detachable box magazine fed garand?

Well done, Gary! Yes, the insert hung in there - not sure how many rounds my brothers and I shot out of that Garand before it was rebarrelled. and obviously the band saw didn't knock it loose, either. My Dad and I used non-removable LockTite. See how crudely the insert forms and supports the...

    Smith and Wesson 25-2

I have a rather old example of a 25-2 - and it is probably the most accurate handgun I own. Back when I would go to 'board shoots' or "turkey shoots', I considered this gun as cheating. I also used it for bowling pin shoots, in the revolver class. Ray

Your Issued Firearm (Military and LE)

Boomer submarines back in my day were stocked with M-14s, 1911A1s, and Pump shotguns, mostly 870s. We were happy with them. Ray USS George Washington Carver, SSBN 656 (G)

    let's see your cam pic's

Mine is a Moutrie as well. Not sure of the model number. It's a couple years old, so I imagine any current Moutrie model would better it. Not sure if this will work; should be a video of a couple lads jostling for seniority. Ray (d4xycrq)
