Thanks to all that posted before about the locking mechanism for the barrel. I had the same problem. I ordered all the parts from Midway USA and for the first time since I was 12 (now 42) it's all locked up tight. I also ordered the Weaver scope mount and installed an old Weaver K2.5 B60...

I had a hard time finding mine on my 1962 model, it's not on the receiver, not on the magazine catch plate, but on the underside of the barrel just forward of the handguard! It's a light stamp.
