    Participate or Spectate?

I was and am in your position. I started two years ago with USPSA after watching a few matches and then going through a club orientation. I watched a ton of videos and read through the rule book. I can say one thing. Being a good, casual knowledgeable shooter does not prepare you for this type...

    Strikers on the Nightstand

Daily Carry Smith Wesson Shield 9 with 124g HST rounds, XS Big Dot Tritium sight, fully loaded, chambered, safety on in the holster as how it is carried daily. The spare mag in its holder is clipped to the holster. All on the floor with a 3D cell Mag light with an LED bulb. For my situation...

    NJ and Guns (Visit)

You are not legal. As an NC or out of state resident and you take a firearm into NJ and get caught... you are now a FELON. Do not take the firearm with you.

    One pistol? Yes, only one.

I use my S&W Shield 9mm. Its my daily carry, night stand and all around home defense pistol. It works for my environment and situation. BTW.. used it a full weekend at the Valor Ridge Pistolcraft 1 course with no problems and using about 700 rounds!

    Getting a new m&p shield...40 or 9??

Traded in my old worn 3913tsw for the 9mm Shield. The Shield is a nice piece and easier to control than the 3913 IMHO. Agree with others on recoil and price of range ammo. My vote is for the 9mm Shield.

    sneaky pete

SP is sort of the I want to carry OWB but really would like to carry IWB. Almost the best of both worlds. IMHO, it is too awkward looking.

    How does this happen?

PA State Police had an issue with their Glock's discharging when being holstered. They have kept quite about the issue. At least one Trooper was severely injured. Seemingly, the leather holster gets worn and ends up in the trigger guard when the weapon is holstered thus causing the trigger to...

    Dehumidifying my safe. Options?

Well... safe is in my basement. I have a forced hot air natural gas furnace along with central air conditioning. The basement can get down to 30 percent humidity in the winter. Safe is fine. In the summer... it can get moist in the basement with the central air running. I put a dehumidifier down...

Went to Walmart looking for ammo today....

Every time I am in Walmart or any other sporting goods store and for the past 25 years, I have always picked up a box of something -- 12g, 22L, 9mm, 357, 40, 223, 5.56mm, 00, 25. My father taught me this at an early age. At this point I have plenty of ammo since Dec 2012. Now the problem, I had...

    Vacation carry help

When going to the beach with a group in a very public area, I generally do not carry during the day when with the family. However, at night on the beach while fishing or walking or hanging out, I do have my G27 at the ready.

    The New CT proposed Laws.

Yup, it passed last night. Gov Malloy will be signing today. Registration and confiscation are on the way in CT. Lots of luck to the brothers and sisters behind enemy lines up there.

CCW on Vacation with no reciprocity?

Thinking you broke Oregon and Cali law there my friend. I would question how your were able to possess those firearms in those states while traveling. FOPA, my read, would not protect you. You may wish to check up on this before doing again. Doesn't sound like you were passing through but...

Safety features on a Glock 26

My daily carry is a G27 using a Blackhawk IWB holster with one spare mag pouch made by Blackhawk (leather). It is very comfortable and safe. However and a big however, I do check the leather IWB holster regularly for wear. The worn leather issue is not only a Glock issue but for other pistols...

Big score at Walmart, but not for me ;(

Absolutely, hope they don't get caught. In our town, this is considered retail sales and you must have a Business Privilege License and pay tax on the sales. The State also gets its cut. The reality is that many will get away with it until they are turned in and then audited. That's when the...
