Are you planning on buying or have you bought an IWI Tavor?

I tried one out and I liked it a lot. I am not in a rush to purchase one but when there are more out there and the prices normalize I would like to add one to the collection. I did not feel like I was giving up much to an AR-15, including reloading split times (which we tested). The trigger was...

AR15 Back up iron sights - anyone try this?

Yeah, you have to get very low on them, but I find it doable just not comfortable. To me it is a fine tradeoff for the lower cost, lower snagging, and quick takeup.

AR15 Back up iron sights - anyone try this?

If you have a top rail, I am very fond of the XS offset sights, and my ACOG (TA31) is one of the few that they work with with complete clearance. They are low, not easy to snag, fast, and even work in the dark. They are basically pistol sights, but that makes them perfect for me for 0-25...

Best red dot for under $250

For that money you can get a Burris Fastfire II and Burris AR-F3 mount. This combination offers a nice red dot, the right height, lots of protection, and best of all the combination weighs .22lbs. This is the combo I use on lightweight AR-15s. Most of the bigger red dots weigh the better part...

    ACOG Zero

I have a crosshair one and I zeroed the first crosshair at 100m. I know some of the other ones are a little tricky to understand, but the crosshair one has subtensions for every 100m, works like a top on my rifle.

    Deceptive on gunbroker?

There are some "confusing" listings on gunbroker, but not all of them are always the fault of the seller. For instance, there is an auction right now where "80% lower" is listed in the title and description, and only 80% lowers are shown in the picture. However, this lower has markings and a...

    AR15 BUIS Question

You could also get a fixed rear sight which would not take up as much room. I now use fixed sites with my EOTech setup, and I find I really like it.

Do You Think The Pink Guns Have Attracted More Female Shooters?

My better half has a bright pink cerakoted Glock 35, she loves it. I got a set of the pink magpul furniture but the demand for AR-15s went nuts before I could get a carbine length upper. That will become part of a future gift. It is a small price to pay to get the important people in my life...

    Dremel Drill Press

I have the Dremel housing you are referencing, I would not go near anything I cared about with it. I find it very useful as a third hand to hold the Dremel for some tasks, but it is not nearly solid enough for any kind of precision work. A drill press would be the minimum, a mill would make...

I want a pistol caliber carbine

I have a Sub-2000 and a Lone Wolf AR pistol lower with a 7.5" DI upper, both set up for .40 S&W. They share ammo and magazines with my pistol of choice. The Sub-2000 was unbelievably cheap used, runs everything I throw at it, has okay sights and accuracy, actually rather stout recoil (for...

    sub2000 optics

I gave up on attaching anything to mine. There is no way to conveniently mount a scope that does not hurt the ability to fold it into a small package.

Got some factory ammo yesterday, strange find

I pulled one. Yikes. The first picture is just the bullet. The measurement at the crimp was .391. The measurement about two thirds of way down the bullet was .397 (in the picture). At the base the bullet was .399.

Got some factory ammo yesterday, strange find

I just purchased two 100 round boxes of .40 WWB value packs, and almost all of my rounds are crimped like this. I found this thread archived when googling about this issue. Here are some pics below. This ammo fits in my .40 case guages, and does still headspace at the case mouth, but it sure...

    .45 ACP AR 15s

I will have to get out the calipers but the max exterior dimension is not the only thing to consider. You also need to account for the pin/mag release combo.

    .45 ACP AR 15s

I have one of the Lone Wolf Glock lowers, and I do not think there is any way there is room for the .45 mags. I had to machine the magwell quite a bit to get it to the point where loaded magazines could be loaded with one hand and drop free.

    Wife's PINK Glock

I had a 35 slide Cerakoted pink for my significant other. Gets her shooting more and proud of her gun. I would do it again in a second. The way the "bright pink" Cerakote baked on, it is really nice deep matte pink. I think it looks great! Lighten up guys!

My Hornady Zombie Max just came in!!!!

I see the lighter side of it, I just ordered some from Midway for novelty Christmas presents which are popular in my family. I am never planning to buy it again, but I do not fault Hornady for it at all. I do not think it is any different than most specialized ammo. Think about it, most...
