I inherited a number of older firearms, and most of the better ones I am familiar with. But this little guy has me a bit stumped. It is a top break, double action only 3 1/2" barrel .38 cal. Made in England.
I think it is an Enfield, but it doesn't have a makers mark anywhere that I can...
In Colorado
I posted a couple on here as suggested. I don't have digital camera, so any pics would have to be cell phone and those are terrible. Better just to have local interests look at them.
I have already pulled out my favorites and the sentimental ones, but really there isn't anyone...
I inherited a number of older firearms. Revolvers, hunting rifles, shotguns, black powder. You name it there is a little bit in there. I need cash now, so I can pay for things related to the rest of the estate as well as some home repairs that I need to get done and soon.
What is the best...
I have another old gun lying around that I thought I would run past you guys. By looking through classifieds and other blog postings, I believe it is a Pre Model 10 .38 special Serial c184xxx. Has a 6" barrel. I know it was a police issue weapon. My guess is early 1950's birth. Can anyone date...
This is the gun I learned to shoot on. It has been in the family for longer than I have been alive. I still use it for target practice, and it is the most reliable handgun I have ever owned.
I have read a few threads and looked at some of the gun auction sites, and these run between $350 and...
Anyone know the value range on these?? I have one and have only fired it a few times because the ammo is so expensive. So, I was thinking of selling it.
It is about 80% blueing and 90% on the finish of the wood. It is very accurate. Though my Bushnell scope needs replaced, due to a light...
Thanks Old Fuff, but proofhouse is off on their dating by a couple of years. I called Colt Customer service and gave her the full serial number, and was told it was born in 1911.
Now, I just have to find a serviceable pair of original grips to restore it. It will then be a display piece to go...
I got this little gun for free, from a relative. It has no magazine and the grips are in bad shape. It is from the mid 1950's and is a cool little gun that would fit nicely in my wife's purse. Being "vintage" as she calls it, she would like to use it as a concealed carry gun.
Problem is, I...
Had to pop the side plate
I carefully opened her up, and found the serial number on the inside of the side plate, 92xxx. Can anyone date it? I went to proof house, and they kind if just skip over the 92xxx numbers.
Thanks
I just inherited this very old revolver and am trying to date it. I have read numerous threads on here about the serial numbers and by all accounts it is supposed to be stamped on the yolk, but on mine the only stamp is a "0".
I can't seem to locate any other serial numbers or proof stamps...
