Another option for protection is Kroil. I keep a shotgun in the barn for snakes and other critters, when I first put it there I would check it every month or so and was always showing signs of rust. I tried several different types of gun oil, but all had the same results. I finally stripped it...
I had to change the picture, I posted the wrong one. I tried reloads and factory ammo, I think the scratches are from the extractor. The round will not center up to chamber. I'm calling CVA tomorrow. Chamber looks smooth.
I just purchased a CVA Scout V2 in 300 Blackout and can't chamber a round in it. It looks like the extractor is not letting it align with the chamber. Anybody else ever seen this happen?
What do you all use when loading test loads? I usually load up 5 rounds of each, its a big hassle to keep changing powder in the measure and readjusting it. Is there something out there that is quick and easy to change powders out?
I've been thinking about a 45/70 in a Handi-Rifle, but I ran across a Rossi Wizard today in 45/70. Anybody have any experiences with the Wizard? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks very much for the info and advise. I went with the 223, ordered it yesterday and should have it by the weekend. Started working on some brass last night to get test loads ready. I hope it likes 55gr stuff, seem to have a lot of that.
Going to buy a rifle to set up for varmint hunting and I'm torn between a 223 or 243. I'm looking at the Savage model 10 Predator Hunter in 243 and the Savage model 10 Precision in 223. I'm set up to reload both, already have some good bullets for both, so ammo is not a problem. Guess I'm...
Thanks very much for the information. I really like the looks of the Savage Hog Hunter and Alaskan, both are chambered in 338 WM. I've also been looking at the 300 WSM, but I really want the short barrel. I love the handling of my Hog Hunter in 308. If I knew there was very little difference in...
I'm thinking about going big on a new rifle. Looking at the Savage Hog Hunter or Alaskan in 338 Win Mag. I've owned and shot 45-70's and 300 Win Mags, but never a 338. My question is how do they compare in recoil to the 45-70 or 300 Win Mag? And how is accuracy?
I really like the thoughts of...
