this is a single shot. the 55 has a magazine. how long has it been since marlin used...the marlin gun company....as a barrel mark ? i cant find any mention of a 54 on internet or in any book .
I had one that I believe was called OKINAWA GUN. Plastic(green?),bipod, fired rounds that were .5 dia. or so. they loaded into a magazine at the top of the gun.It cocked like a tommy gun. I suppose it was to resemble a B A R or light air cooled .30 . Also remember the Bret or Bart Maverick...
Reblued and reassembled a .22 marlin 60. The disassembly an polishing were done a couple weeks earlier. Also I mounted a BSA sweet 17 on my marlin .17 and loaded some 12ga. shells using pyrodex

ever try shot cup over the over powder wad? if that were done , would a snotty barrel be avoided? Soon as I find a local shop with FF I'm going to try bout everything I've read on this thread. :D
scrat, how much shot are you ushing with the 60 grains? ff powder? once the shell is completely assembled you trim off whatever sticks out past the overshot? this is only a 2 dram load,ever hunt with it?

Trying to find info on 22 Savage bolt action with a magazine that has a (adjustment?)screw on the bottom. Last patent date is 1917.It has a Lyman aperature sight which was probably added later.
