use the Springfield for reaching out (it was an MBR after all). use the lever for mid / short range. it's not the worst choice for a SHTF thing either, really. ammo is always around, can take some game, it's light & would seem somewhat packable, it's about as discreet a firearm you can get...

he's probably alluding to some reports (or his own experience FAIK) that the imprinting of the gear logo apparently reduced the side to side distance of the receiver at that area, which could certainly bind the carrier.

JLD makes G3 clones, not FALs AFAIK did it look like this? (G3) or more like this? if it is a FAL-type, you can check the firing pin & spring for breaks & burrs, and the corresponding recess in the bolt where they go for goo or other obstructions to the pin's free travel.

these are some of my better (10 round @100yd) groups with the SA58 & BHM175. these were fired at a rate of about 1 round every 3rd second or so (DNR range rules). man, i REALLY yanked that one out there, didn't i? i think it's alot better than i am already, we'll see pretty soon how...
