Anyone have / know about Chiappa .22LR AR uppers?

40 grain HV fodder for sure My Chiappa upper also jams up with hollow points. I've run about 200 rounds of the Win M-22 and they work great.

    Any Glock Lovers?! (G27)

Back to liking them I currently enjoy a G17, G22, G27, and a G36 and routinely carry either the G27 or G36. All have proven to be very reliable with a wide range of ammo and accurate enough for defensive work and IDPA competition. I love the aftermarket parts availability and modest cost...

1911 8 round mags. any issues?

Wilson 47Ds work for me No issue over the years with more then 5000k rounds through 'em. I also have two Wilson Officers mags (7 rounds on a short frame) for 4 or 5 years that I've kept fully loaded almost constantly. Still run like a champ.

    1911 hammer following slide

Trying the spring bending fix I did some more research online and decided to try increasing the sear and trigger leaf tension. This seems to have done the trick as the hammer is staying put now. Of course, the trigger is a little heavier but on a carry and IDPA gun I take that as acceptable...

    1911 hammer following slide

I have a new Springfield Armory TRP. She has about 700 rounds through her so far but at my IDPA practice last night I let the slide drop smartly and the hammer followed! It didn't occur while firing the gun at practice but at home I tried pulling the slide back by hand and letting it go...

    Deer/Turkey/HD gun

"Can a gunsmith thread a 20" IC barrel for a choke? or does that not work that way?" Yes, he can. I have an 870 with an 18" barrel modified for screw-in chokes. I also have the Wilson Combat ghost ring sights installed. I use mine for just what you've described - deer, turkey, and defense...

    Keeper: Ar or AK?

AR With the modularity of the platform you can configure your rifle to your particular needs and wants - from a SBR to a long range tack driver. The AR will cost more than an AK, but if you can only have one why not get the one that meets your needs the best?

Range Report, new Guardian .32 ACP

Silvertips work OK in mine But I do worry some about penetration with them. I think I read somewhere that you can expect about 8" to 9" in ballistic gel. Maybe alternate between Silvertips and hardball? I also get the stovepipe on the last round with both mags very consistently.

    Kimber Disappointment (and Question)

Not the usual Kimber! "After he racked the slide, I couldn't get the slide release to function unless I dropped the mag. Was I not engaging the grip safety? Why would the slide release function normally after I dropped the mag?" The slide release pushes against the magazine follower in the...

    Blazers blowing up a gun?????

Overpressure and Underpressure loads? It's hard to tell in the photo but it looks like the barrels in the display are bulged toward the muzzle end. An overpressure round wouldn't do that, but a bullet stuck in the barrel, followed by another one sure would. Are they saying Blazer is so bad...

    A VERY well used US&SW M1911A1..

I wonder? This bit, "I took it all apart and it was full of grease and internally it was fine." makes me think that the owner greased it up and placed it there on purpose? Maybe a soldier returning from WWII couldn't part with issue sidearm, that had saved his life once or twice, and decided...

Camping in Allegheny National Forest in PA

After further consideration you might want to look into pepper spray as your first line of defense. Here's one example, http://www.tbotech.com/bearspray.htm Then bring along the gun that you feel the most comfortable with using and packing 24/7. I've got a Springfield Armory Micro, and...

Camping in Allegheny National Forest in PA

What are you packing it for? For protection either long gun will work great with the right ammunition, but carrying a rifle or shotgun all the time can be tough. Pistols aren't nearly as powerful, and if I wanted to be prepared for the toughest predator to take down in that part of the...

Guns for a trip down south

WWCD What would Capstick do? Peter Hathaway Capstick always preferred hunting wounded Leopards with a Winchester model 1897 shotgun. You can hold the trigger back and just work the pump forearm on a fast moving, and very angry, cat. I'd but one of those. Everyone needs a Model 1897...

    ar?

Yes. A complete upper receiver mated to a complete lower receiver gives a complete firearm. The lower receiver is the part with the serial number and is treated as any firearm.

An 870 made in 1972 Seen it's fair share of hunting and bagged a lot of game. It has recently undergone a transformation by Scattergun Tech. 18.5" barrel with Remchoke TracLok ghost ring sights, tritium insert in the front post 2 shot extension with QD swivel stud Speed Feed stocks with...

    Groups With Slugs?

Offhand groups of 2" at 25 yards with Remington Sluggers, my 870, and Wilson peep sights. I don't like benching a 12 gauge either.

Do you CCW using a fanny pack or F.A.G. bag?

I use one Its got a holster in the "hidden" compartment that holds my 1911 and a spare mag. Getting a speedy presentation takes a little practice but isn't a real handicap. I find it handy when traveling or out for the day with the kids. Put you cell phone, keys, change, or whatever in the...

HD Shotgun? Marine, Police, Magnum, 3.5" ?

Considerations bobby: You mention that you and your wife are smaller than average. Also that you have a spine injury. The first question I'd ask is how much recoil can you tolerate? To relate it to something you already know, how large a rife can you handle? Have you fired any...
