ATF visited my dealer over multiple handgun purchases

Gym Let me rephrase something I said. If they come to your door and want to talk, ask for a card and tell them your attorney will call them. Then hire an attorney. Guess I just assumed no one would waste money on an attorney until they needed one. I am sure you know about assuming. :D

ATF visited my dealer over multiple handgun purchases

Ignorance of the law is never an excuse. It is ironic that there are 2nd amendment lawyers that say they could never know all the firearms laws, but us mere mortals are expected to.

ATF visited my dealer over multiple handgun purchases

C They might not bother you, it depends on what problems they are having, like arms turning up where they do not belong that came from your area....etc. As you found just getting their attention is not a good thing. Hope it is all nothing. Good of you to think of your dealer.

ATF visited my dealer over multiple handgun purchases

There is lots of people in jail who thought the same thing. I know of similar cases but they are not mine so I am not at liberty to discuss them. It is fairly simple do not talk to them, have them call a lawyer just a call is cheap. Find out what they are after. If its nothing who cares. If...

ATF visited my dealer over multiple handgun purchases

"I believe the OP stated in his state the purchaser needs a purchase permit or CPL and he identified them by DL. What's the problem ?" Might not be a problem with who he sold to, he wouldn't be the first avid collector to get harassed for "dealing without a license". Just say the wrong thing...

Do not talk to them. Period. They can make a mountain out of a mole hill. Take the 5th, lawyer up but do not help them make something that is not there. Oh and you posted too much info here. I would delete this thread.

Stewart Case - DoJ Writ of Certiori to USSC

The dissent in McCoy asserted that as-applied challenges cannot be brought under the Commerce Clause, relying on a single sentence from Lopez for support: “[W]here a general regulatory statute bears a substantial relation to commerce, the de minimis character of individual instances arising...

Stewart Case - DoJ Writ of Certiori to USSC

My family tree begins with what in fact is a tree, a cedar of straight grain that grows in Northern California and Oregon. Now contemplate all the saws and trucks and rope and the countless other gear used in harvesting and carting the cedar 6a federal regulation under the Commerce Clause...

Stewart Case - DoJ Writ of Certiori to USSC

That principle is perhaps most famously illustrated by Wickard v. Filburn, 317 U.S. 111 (1942), in which the Court upheld federal regulation of wheat grown and consumed on a family farm in order to control the volume of wheat moving in interstate and foreign commerce. See App., infra, 21a...
