Scout rifle for our current times

A month ago I would have said a Mini 30 with cheap and plentiful 7.62x39 AK ammo, but the current situation with Russia may affect that.

How Many of You Kept Your Factory Springs?

Original springs in both my SP101 and GP100, but I stoned and polished the internals in both. GP trigger is as smooth as any pistol I have ever fired. SP is smooth, but still provides a lot of excercise.

    Ladies guns

Wife’s pistol is a 3” SP101, stainless, standard black rubber grips with tiger wood inserts, chambered for .357 (but she shoots .38). In my humble opinion, guns aren’t cute and shouldn’t look “toy” like.

    stance and grip

Thanks CPE. I'm happy with my results with what i learned on, standing there looking like an 18th century duelist. My modern stance and grip results are not as good and i was pondering if i should retrain. I'll stick with tried and true but continue to experiment with the new method.

    stance and grip

I was taught to shoot one handed, standing facing 90 degrees from the target. I now read or am told to face the target and use a two hand grip. I'm always open to change, but shoot closer patterns using the stance and grip that i was trained on. Should i stick with what works, or will my...

    '97 Winchester at LGS

Loose Noose, my comment was not intended to disparage your work, and i apologize if it was taken as such. I was simply passing on my satisfaction with a restorer whose work exceeded my skill and expectation. Congrats on the '97.

    '97 Winchester at LGS

If you want a top notch restoration, I recommend Simmons in Olathe, KS. They specialize in Winchester '97's and 12's. They brought my M12 back to life. They are however neither fast nor cheap.

Did anyone attend the CT rally today? I'm on the west coast and haven't heard anything on the news ( not surprising), and was curious about turnout.
