    Flashlights. A bright idea.

Check out the blf A6, they are a 16550 light that will run you about $20-30. Make sure you get the one with the right light frequency. Mine is a daylight, not sure if that is 4500k or so. Been carrying one for about 5 years. Maybe less.

Projectile Recommendations for 30-06 Long-ish range Hunting

Easy does it varminterror. You are taking this way too personal. Nobody is imposing their beliefs on anybody here. This is a forum, where information is shared, and the fat is chewed. As a former member of uncle sam's misguided children, I am pretty comfortable behind a rifle. I assume you are a...

Projectile Recommendations for 30-06 Long-ish range Hunting

It is not like he is calling someone unethical. I believe his intent was just for someone who is thinking about doing something, a little thought to chew on. There are people capable of shooting at game that far. Then there is the rest of us. Nothing to get frustrated about.

    RIP bikerdoc

Sad to hear of his passing. There have been quite a few lately. May he rest in peace and prayers to his family. He is in a better place than the rest of us now. Didn't know him, but enjoyed his posts. Let us know if there is a place to help.

    Anybody recognize the holster?

Great holster, make concealed carry, really concealed. Just don't set it down, you'll never find it. ;-)

Meat prices are going up..up...and up, time to buy more tags

When I processed deer, I hoist up the deer high enough to work the bottom, and lower as needed until done. I can not even imagine how high I would need to hoist up a 1000# cow. I hope it never comes to my needing to do this. Good idea using trees. I can think of some places on my property where...

Meat prices are going up..up...and up, time to buy more tags

You should get around 50% of the weight back in meat. The deer here are much smaller than the deer up north, seems a deer has to be small to survive the summer heat and humidity. I didn't weigh the deer I processed last year, but got about 50# meat from a small (to me) doe. Will see how I do...

Meat prices are going up..up...and up, time to buy more tags

Here in east tn, processing is the bottleneck. There is plenty of beef on the hoof. We have a neighbor that will put up a beef for us. We pay him $3 pound hanging weight. Couple hundred for kill and processing, and it is still cheaper than store bought, and we know what he feeds. Hay and grass...

"We Live in a Good Neighborhood"

I think he means sometimes you get a bad apple even in a nice area. While it is true that most affluent areas have less crime, it rarely means it has none. Some rich kids turn bad, and some poor kids turn out good. We are all playing the odds as best as we can. Stay safe as you can.

The One(s) You DON'T Regret Trading or Selling

I have one of those but in 25acp. Mine is the gold anodized, that's why it is so good. I don't carry it because the safety takes forever to disengage, so you have to carry with an empty chamber. It is a toy at best. It does shoot pretty good, though it is a contact range weapon. I can't bring...

The One(s) You DON'T Regret Trading or Selling

Walther ppk/s by interarms. A very pretty gun that shot well. The skin between my thumb and index finger was constantly being shredded by the hammer bite as well as the slide. Away it went. Sold it on consignment and took the money and bought an m&p 45c. I think that is the only gun I have ever...

    8x or 10x binos

7x-8x seems to be the sweet spot for hand held binos. I don't thing the 10x32 or x28 will work as well as your 8x42's. Especially in thick woods, where light is reduced. You want an exit pupil of 4+ for low light. That said, if you like the price, they are probably good binos, just not for the...

"We Live in a Good Neighborhood"

We live out in the farmland area. We have a small holding and my neighbors have larger mostly. We make our place as uninviting as possible. Not many people come up my dark driveway, let alone at night. There are no streetlights here. This is just the way we like it. Are there meth labs around...

IWB Holster for SIG 365 XL

Big fan of horsehide, doesn't get wet from sweat like cowhide does. My favorite holster maker stopped offering it for some reason. Well worth the $15 upcharge to me. I guess it depends on how hot it is where you are. I sweat like a pig in the summer. 6'- 190.

    More Non-Lead Bullets Choices

How many people have their water delivered to their homes in lead pipes? I know there was an issue up in Flint MI a few years back, but I believe they changed water treatments that caused old lead to become soluble. What did they do with all that contaminated water? Also, where does lead come...

Carrying at work, are you qualified?

First you complain that people are not qualified, then you post how you bring a gun to work In a backpack, wondering if others are qualified. Then insult others that disagree with you pacifist views. I am what I am, what are you?
