Gun Owners on the "Left" of center ...

Good post. There are plenty of dems out there who would join the NRA but because they feel like political outcasts there, they don't. Hell, the most liberal guy I know is also the biggest gun nut I know. Alienating these kind of people is a sure way to ensure that we make no progress on...

    The Smoothness of Single Stage

I size all my calibers on a Redding T7 turret. Very smooth, and solid as a rock. Then I do the rest on a LnL AP.

Speer Gold Dot vs Winchester PDX1 in 9mm

Can you explain your reasoning? Both are solid performers. Either would be fine, and if there was any advantage to one or the other, it certainly would not be "far and away". The PDX1 is very similar to the RangerT rounds. Those are some of the best SD rounds out there.

    I drank the Kool-Aid again...

They are homely little buggers, but very good pistols. They are suprisingly accurate and fast shooters. The Ghost Rocket is an excellent trigger and easily the best if you are looking to do a connector only, as the others (Scherer, LoneWolf, GlockOEM, etc) only lighten the pull but don't...

Lack of Respect for the 10mm

I love my 10mm. Unfortunately, there are no good SD loads for it. None of the excellent performing modern JHPs are designed to perform at those velocities. No HST, no Gold Dot (that works well at anything above .40S&W velocities), no Ranger. The Winchester Silvertip is about all there is...

Weapon mounted light on a handgun?

If there's an intruder in my house that I suspect is a likely threat the four rules, while still important, will be taking a back seat to survival. If you come into my house, unannounced, late at night, and you don't get turned into a midnight snack for my Doberman, you should expect to get...

Weapon mounted light on a handgun?

You need a light to ID an intruder in low light. As much as I love my handhelds, they handicap you in a fight. Weapon lights allow you to shoot two handed and still have light on the target. Or use your other hand for something useful.

Glock 23 suddenly stopped working properly...

Over lubrication will not cause the problem you describe. Weak grip is my prime suspect. Grip it firmly and get the web of your hand as high as you can on the backstrap. Also, being a used gun, I'd get some new mag and recoil springs in it ASAP

Worst handgun you've ever shot :(

Beretta Tomcat .25 Trigger sucked, it was horribly inaccurate, and it was unreliable to the point of being basically a single shot...total POS

Colt Govt Model .380 Mark IV/ Series 80

Mine was plenty accurate and very reliable with FMJs. It would not feed a whole mag of HPs, though.

    3" or 3.5" bbl at 15 yards in 9mm--will I notice a difference?

I would go with the Covert. Added barrel length won't hurt comfort or concealability. But more velocity and sight radius and especially less muzzle flash are all plusses in a fighting gun, even if they are not all that noticable.

    CZ-75 or second 1911

One should always have two 1911s. One to look at often and shoot occasionally and one workhorse to tinker with and really learn the platform. You need a beater (or just something that isn't a $2000 Less Baer) 1911.

    Informed discussion requested

Not contradicting you here, just thinking out loud: I would imagine the reason for the spread has little to do with the rifling itself, but rather the thin, low ballistic coefficient bullets exiting the muzzle in each other's wake.

    Which pistol? (A real dilemma!)

Much as I like how the CZ's feel in hand, that's where the love fest stops for me. How you achieved rapid double taps with the long, vague reset on a CZ75 is beyond me. 1911s and Glocks are the speed kings. And those are what I've settled on after owning many others. Good luck.

    Best .380 FMJ For LCP?

Not all Buffalo Bore is +P. This is their standard pressure FMJ flat-point. I trust BB's QC more than some garbage range ammo from WallyWorld. http://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=217

    glock 19 accuracy issues

I don't think it's a silly statement. For someone with good trigger control it isn't much of an issue, but even then it will likely cost you an inch or two at 25yd. I don't train with the OP, so I don't know how many rounds he's shooting a month or what his abilities are. I've seen some...

    punch set recommendation

I have a set of Grace punches I got from Midway. Good punches but I've already bent the smallest one beyond use. One good, tough trigger pin and that was all she wrote. Just remember there are limits to what a brass punch can do.

Critical Defense 380 Rounds - Not Expanding Much

Not expanding? Good thing. I want my bullets to actually reach something vital. FMJ or nothing in a .380acp.

    Bersa Users?

Shot one the other day. Very accurate little piece. They have a rep for good reliability. Down side: It says Bersa on the slide instead of Walther. Shoots a .380ACP.
