Beretta 92 FS, Any reason not to buy ?

Have all the opinions you like, but make sure the facts you state aren't wrong before you say them with such authority. Off the top of my head without even researching, Frances uses the 92 under the name PAMAS, Brazil uses the Taurus variant 92, and Wiki lists many more countries. Didn't you...

Beretta 92 FS, Any reason not to buy ?

Would you prefer that the suggestions stay DA/SA and hammer fired or are you open to DAO striker-fired like Glocks / M&Ps or DA/SA striker-fired like the Walther P99-AS?

Beretta 92 FS, Any reason not to buy ?

That's true, but those are pretty old production. If memory serves the locking block is on generation three now. Still probably the weakest point of the design and good to replace regularly like springs.

Beretta 92 FS, Any reason not to buy ?

I've always shot the 92 better than the XDM, significantly. The XDM also has a roll pin that can snap and render the pistol inert. Whetever flaws the 92 has, I'm not aware of any that brick the pistol. Then again I don't shoot competitively. Reliability trumps all for me. As for the goodies, I...

Beretta 92 FS, Any reason not to buy ?

No disrespect intended, but I disagree pretty much with this entire post. $625 is in the ballpark of the XDM, and I think the Beretta 92-series blows those guns out of the water. The idea of the XD being higher quality than the Beretta is laughable to me having had ample time with both. Better...

AZ:Yuma Open Carry, Sheriff Dept, honk and a friendly wave

Wyoming is similar. All the cars on my street including mine got keyed, and the talk with my local PD ended up being 5 minutes about the car and 25 about their Kimber 1911 and HK USP .45 choices of duty pistols, with a third officer arrived and joined in to argue for his Glock 22. I even showed...

    New to me Colt DS

I love my blue steel 1968 DS, but my dad has a nickel Cobra and that classic Colt nickel finish is SEXY.

Do we need glenn beck on our side?

I think Beck is a nutball and comes off to the left a nutball, and I think they gleefully publicize him to further marginalize the right and downplay more calm, sane conservative views. I don't align with him and I don't think he makes conservatism look good.

A good sign of things loosening up

My Wal Mart is still stripped clean, LGS has stock, but insanely priced.

    My new 38 special

I'll be the minority here and say shoot it. Life is pretty short. When you get your hands on a Ferrari, don't trap it in the garage. Take it to the track and let it roar.

Thinking about a PPK for new CCW

The Walther PPK is one of those guns that's fantastic for no clearly articulable reason. It's heavier than more powerful guns, bulkier than the same, but it just feels right. Like a .38 snub nose with full, proper grips, what it sacrifices in practicality it gains in instant, confident...

Something I noticed just why do they do it.

I think it's smart. A gun store or pawn shop is a prime target for robbery if undefended. Both are filled with highly portable, highly valuable goods that are incredibly easy to sell on the street.

Which one you do NOT want?

The P99 is a solid, proven pistol. It is not, however, objectively a "better pistol" than the 92FS or G19.

    Colorado Emergency

I am crestfallen. I have spent years setting up a life for myself in Colorado. I will be hoping against hope for victory in 2014.

Which one you do NOT want?

Hard choice. I'd ditch the HK or Walther. I prefer the Sig 226 to the P30, especially the Elite, and Beretta scratches that 'exotic, sexy' itch better than the sweet P99.

Whats the fuss over PMAGS ??

Hey, same here. Pmags are good quality, cheap in non-panic times, and durable. The best endorsement is three friends of mine, two Army grunts and a Marine, all served 2-3 tours, two in Iraq, one in Afghanistan. All three swear by Pmags. And considering they actually fought hostiles with them...

Even Slate Admits AWB is DOA

I want the magazine capacity ban blocked more than anything, that's why I have like 18 magazines for 6 gun models on backorder. We have not yet begun to fight.

Response from Wyoming Senator John Barrasso

I realize it's no mystery where he stands. Mostly I'm just happy with my state and my elected representatives and wanted to share. This was in response to the Ruger form letter. Dear [Name Redacted], Thank you for contacting me regarding federal gun control issues. It is good to hear from...

Proud new owner of a Kimber, finally!

Pics or it didn't happen! :) Any of the 230-grain modern JHPs like Speer Gold Dot, Federal HST, etc, are fine in .45, but I prefer the Remington Golden Saber 230-grain for the same reason I use the Golden Saber 102-grain in my LCP - they have a profile that mimics ball FMJ ammo, so they feed...

    Democratic Gun Owners' Caucus groups

I'll never forget the day my very, very left-wing friend showed me his XD-45 with great pride. It was wonderful to see the issue could transcend party lines. Thanks for posting!
