    AK prices and availability

Well I havent seen them command that much, but there was a PSL w/ POSP at a shop in Richmond I saw that the owner wanted 1100 and not a penny less. I asked him, as politely as I could: "Do you really think that is a real SVD Dragunov" he said "its a Romanian Dragunov" I had my Droid with me...

    Easily customizable bolt action

@Sonofroost I found the perfect rifle for you. Get a cheap M39 from this guy at gunsnammo.com. Pick up whatever stock you want, be it ATI, Richards whatever. From there you can install a scopemount from accumounts and put a nice scope on it. The M39s have a great trigger pull and are very...

    AK prices and availability

Unless the dollar skyrockets in value stacked against say the Pound or Euro, I'd say no. PSLs are at a disadvantage, because so many are branded as dragunovs and a gun shop will ask a dragunov price.

Stuff Hit the Fan Handgun: Which one?

With a handgun you must be completely confident using it, be able to carry enough of the ammo in case you never find another round, must be able to field strip/clean under low/no light conditions, and it must be reliable and operational and you must be prepared if a part breaks or need replacing...

    7.62x39 ammo identification

About 2 years into hardcore shooting. before then I just plinked. I've mostly used spam can and battle pack ammo, because its cheap and I have discounts through a dealer. Only began using non corrosive in the last few years on autoloaders and when I need above average accuracy.

    7.62x39 ammo identification

I don't see it on factory ammo often, it isn't on my wolf x39 steel case or my non corrosive x54r. Every time I've seen it is on corrosive ammo.

    AK prices and availability

Just some advice. ATlantic firearms has the best prices for AKs I've seen, a Saiga at 389 last I checked. Arsenals are all the rage and the nicest, but they can stab your wallet. Building an AK takes only a little more room than say handloading. The press is probably the largest piece, you need...

    Quality Older Guns

For a rifle, you can find SKS (overpriced if over 250), WASRs (check carefully), MAK-90s (definitely buy), Saigas, CETMEs. It all depends. Pistols, CZ52, CZ82, Makarov, Tokarev. I'd recommend 7.62x25 pistols, they're quite powerful and deceiving little buggers.

If you do not know, treat it as corrosive. Pour hot water down bore from chamber end and down gas tube. The lacquer suggests corrosive, its used to seal the primer.

    Old Winchester Ammunition

They are still sold, so I'd say shoot it. Ballistic wise it probably will class similar to the HV stuff sold by Federal, which is good stuff.

    AK prices and availability

With PSLs I know that several were imported last summer, since then I'm not sure. There is an absurd amount of AKs, they're not drying up, just shipments can't keep up with demand. One way to save money is to build your own, I've been looking into it, equipment is around 1k but you can built an...

    very irritating discussion

Sam, I did look that up too. At this point however I don't think I'll own guns in HK, considering it is much safer than, say Dallas. Last year stats: Dallas, Texas: Population : 1,188,204. Number of murders last year 248. number of burglaries 23,184 Hong Kong: Population 7,055,071. Number of...

    very irritating discussion

@Fivetwoseven You can, there are applications and an HK Rifle association. Maybe you should try contributing to the discussion rather than try pissing me off. People are taking what I'm saying out of context, I just think that unregulated automatics are asking for trouble, especially if you...

Mental Health and Firearms Ownership, what do you think?

It depends on the persons state of mind. If they have violent mood changes, are unable to live on their own, or unable to keep from harming others or themselves, then no. If they happen to suffer from depression or another disorder that allows them to keep their reasoning and not harm others...

    Browning 1895 copy- Good Gun

Was at the range today, with a friend who is a range instructor. While I fired my Mosin, he fired his Browning 1895 .30-06. After I finished firing my Mosin (48 rounds, shoulder is sore) he offered to let me shoot his rifle. It was amazingly pleasant to shoot, recoil was much less than my Mosin...

    very irritating discussion

@M-Cameron I heard an M1 tank got damaged by a DSHK .50 cal awhile back, those rounds pack a punch they do. On a vehicle like a tank it is all about shot placement, you fire where the armour is thinnest or nonexistent. If you try and fire an M82A2 at the frontal armour, of course it isn't going...

    Norinco M-14 copy

@Seekher Don't worry, you have the better end of the deal than us. Regarding the original topic, there is no reason to pick US made necessarily, many Chinese guns are of high quality and there is no good reason for the embargo, at this point it only serves to piss people off, like the Cuban...

Semi autos in 6 or 7mm caliber

I'm not looking for a new production necessarily, thats why I said besides Armalite/Stoner stuff, I appreciate older guns more anyways, they don't make them like that anymore and the history is neat too. Now to start window shopping I guess

Semi autos in 6 or 7mm caliber

@Ian The FN49s, do they clean easily? Furthermore, what stripper clips can be used with them? @Justin Very funny, but 3000 is wayy out of my price range haha. I may go with an AG/42, but I've heard cleaning is a PITA.
