You ask, "What schools offer the most bang (sorry) for the buck"? Simple answer, TDI of Ohio! http://www.tdiohio.com/ Another good choice, depending on your location, is the Midwest Training Group. http://www.midwesttraininggroup.net/instructors.htm Both have a cadre of their...

    Magna-Port

About five (5) years ago, they customized a S&W Model 13-2 3 1/2 inch barrel for me. They ported the barrel, bobbed the hammer, converted action to DAO, slicked and rounded the trigger, etc. Around that same period, they also ported a Model 66 2 1/2 inch and several J-frames and Pro-Ported...

    Dilemma S&W M13 or SIG P226?

PARTICULARLY, if the Smith & Wesson in question is a Model 13, 13-1 or 13-2, which would mean it was manufactured prior to 1982 and that its barrel is pinned to the frame AND its cylinder holes recessed!

    LEOSA Changes...

Actually, the current version of LEOSA says that retired officers must have a minimum of FIFTEEN (15) years total LE service unless they were retired earlier from a service connected injury, and, NO, neither the current law or the proposed changes give LEOSA coverage to either active or retired...

Legal ramifications for removal of mag safety

My bad! The original press release from S&W indicates that NHSP INSISTED their M&P45 pistols come WITH mag safeties!

Legal ramifications for removal of mag safety

Fiddletown, The best I can do is give you two examples of S&W M&P pistols which are available as LE models WITHOUT magazine safeties: (1) those M&P45 pistols issued to the New Hampshire State Police, and (2) my personally owned M&P40!

Legal ramifications for removal of mag safety

It's my understanding that MOST law enforcement agencies purchasing makes of handguns for which magazine safeties (such as S&W) are optional equipment choose to buy them WITHOUT that particular device in place. The reason is because LEOs supposedly consider it better, should they...

recommend me a 9mm handgun for the girl..

I'd let her try the Ruger SR9! It's DAO striker fired with an exterior safety and a Glock style trigger. It's not only very slim and points great, but it's accurate as well! About $400 in the gun store nearest you!

    Tyler t grip question

Question: Any opinions about whether the K-frame even needs a T-grip? MY answer: It's all a matter of filling the space above the middle finger of the firing hand behind the trigger guard. MOST shooters will do about as well DOUBLE-ACTION with the T-Grip combined with the old standard...

    LE Federal Carry Law

isp2605 IS Correct! I TOTALLY and WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with isp2605's interpretation of LEOSA. Any other opinions to the contrary are simply lacking in understanding of this particular federal statute and case law to date concerning it!

NO Back-up Guns Allowed in SOME States???

Strangely, New Mexico law prohibits concealed carry licensees from carrying more than one firearm at any one time. Of course, this wouldn't apply to members of law enforcement. Are there other states with similar prohibitions in place? Alabama has been mentioned as possibly having the...

Lock free S&W 642's on the way

It'll be interesting if, and when, Smith comes up with any other revolver frames without internal locks, say something in K or L-frame configurations. THEN, we MIGHT say the S&W folks have FINALLY caught on to what their customers want!

Lock free S&W 642's on the way

226, I found the serial number on yours interesting when I compared it to the 642-1 I already owned prior to these latest ones becoming available. MINE was manufactured in 2000 with a serial of CEFXXXX, so there's obviously going to be quite a gap between some Smiths in the same model.
