I'm pretty stoked. I've been teaching beginner friends and family for a while now, and finally got certified to teach the class. Now rather than send them to a class for the paper, I can do it myself.
I an email from Taurus, as well a letter, saying that they had received my gun, and the repair time would be 6 weeks.
I just checked their repair status page, and my gun is done! Waiting on them now to ship it.
Can't complain!
So an update:
I called Taurus back, trying to explain to them how requiring me to pay $50 to ship my gun back to them to replace a $7 part just because they placed it on the "restricted parts list" didn't make any sense to me. This didn't persuade them.
However, they honed in on the...
I think I'll try again to get them to send me one - they told me that they wouldn't ship it because it's on their restricted parts list.

I got it when they first came out: SN 023XXX. It has probably no more than 400 rounds through it. I've only used the 2 factory mags that came with it.
It has been a reliable shooter until now. It had one problem out of the box where the slide catch wouldn't stay caught. They re-machined the...
PS - They won't ship the part, it's on their "restricted" list. It's a metal part and a spring. Not hard to replace. And not hard to break, or so I thought. Oh, well.
"Wow" -My thoughts exactly.
Just heard that I've got to pay to send it in. $50 shipping for a $3 part. I'm going to check with my gun store to see if they can ship it USPS for me.
Kind of bummed that I have to pay to ship it.
Pics forthcoming, but the title is pretty self-explanatory - the magazine release broke in two and fell out of the frame.
I realize it's a Taurus, but has anyone ever heard of this particular part breaking on any firearm before?
I'm on hold with CS right now. I'll post their response when...
1) Is it okay to run the brass through the sizing/depriming die while still dirty to remove the primer then running it through an ultrasonic cleaner or... No, don't do it. The priming compound will leach from the primers, staining your brass. Use a universal decapping die (Lee has one for less...
I think you do. Call Springfield CS and they'll give you another one. If they're backordered, check out xdguys.com if you want to order a replacement and don't want to wait for one.
I don't think you're going to find much difference between the two. If it were me, I'd go with it.
The correct answer would be to re-work your load, but I don't see a problem keeping with a mid-range load.
The only real issue with pushing above the mid-range for jacketed bullets is to...
I have 2 boxes of Hornady 185 grain XTP .452 100 count bullets.
I need the following:
Berry's plated .400 180 grain FP
Berry's plated .452 230 grain RN
Small Pistol Primers
Large Pistol Primers
I know the primers are a long, long, long shot, but I need them, so I figured I'd ask...
powderfunnels.com is a powder-through expander funnel. Yes, it is a bell only, but it is universal, and combining it with Hornady's PTX linkage allows for one setup for multiple pistol calibers.
I use it and am pleased with the results. ymmv.
Check out powderfunnels.com - use this with a different PTX linkage per caliber and you're done.
I use a different metering insert and PTX linkage per caliber and my caliber changes take seconds.

One idea would be to mount your presses to plywood squares, and use some cam bench dogs / clamps to hold the squares down:
