Most 1911's should work well out of the box. The fact that you had one that did not, does not mean that all dont work out of the box. Most do work. And in my experience do work well. However if you are asking me to choose a 1911 over a sig 220 based on reliability only...I can not do it...

I like the stoeger cougar for a new under 400 gun. Also the 2022 is a good one too. Used glocks can be found for 379-399 all day.

Some sigs have gotten gaudy, this isn't one of them. It looks nice. And you've got to shoot it. dont safe queen it.
