    Resize

I'm a little confused by the order you're using. I run my rifle brass through a tumble, lube, resize/decap, and only then do a trim after it's been resized. My trimmer works off the shoulder though, so it's important to be resized first.

    Henry Rifle Customer Service

My favorite "shootin' gun" is my Henry 22 carbine with the large loop lever. I could just fire that thing all day, having a ball the entire time. I don't even remember why I originally had to do it, but I emailed customer support, and sure enough it was Anthony Imperato that responded. Made...

    NG-with gun cleaning question

My shooting buddy and I have been mostly shooting rifles the last year or so on range day, so last week I suggested we finally go back and shoot pistol for a day, and to fire our carry guns. Good thing too, he had misfire after misfire. Taking it apart it was the typical dust and crud gumming...

Chasing the latest thing is hard to avoid.

My favorite carry gun is a Colt Gov't 380. Better size than the P238/Mustang, great handling. It's slightly on the heavy side since it's all steel, but acceptable. Downside is, it's from 1984. I've never had an issue with reliability on it, but it is old enough to be concerning. I did...

Is it obligatory to have your CCW permit on your while armed in your jurisdiction?

In Colorado, the only easily accessible proof is the card in your possession, as there is no online copy. If the police in any jurisdiction need to verify a permit, they need to pick up the phone and call the issuing sheriff's office.

Best way to inventory gun collection?

I wrote Shot Works Pro (https://shotworkspro.com) to help manage my stuff, then others wanted it too, so I made it better and started selling it. A famous gun writer bought a copy and has, the last time they told me, over 1300 firearms tracked with it. All encrypted, password protected data. I...

If you had just enough money, right now, to buy any one firearm this instant, what would it be?

A Marlin 357 lever action. When I find one, I don't have the free cash. When I have free cash, the deck off the house decides to disintegrate. If the selling market was better, I'd get rid of several other things for one of these.

    Flying with guns

Don't think this is correct. Luggage containing declared firearms (Not large rifle cases) are not to be tagged in any way to indicate they contain firearms to the baggage handlers. Also, every time I've flown with pistols in my luggage, they came out on the normal baggage carousels.

    first time selling help?

I'm not sure what recourse you'd have in a private AS-IS sale that a bill of sale would give you? It's your responsibility to inspect the item before you purchase. Being a stolen item is maybe the only possibility of usefulness.

So how do YOU get a gun guy to try something new?

The more you shoot better than he does, the more he buys lunch.

    Seller Refund Policy: Fair, Ethical?

I always believed there's a complete difference between ownership and possession. You put your credit card in the website, click purchase, and the seller ships the gun, congratulations, you own the gun. It's all yours. However, until you pass the 4473 check, you just can't possess it. It's...

    Keeping Track of Your Guns

That's why I wrote my software Shot Works Pro. I wanted the encryption and all the logging features. Couldn't find anything else that did just what I wanted it to do.

    Favorite 9mm Powders

    I use W231/HP-38 across the board, for 380, 38spc, 9mm, and 45.
  17. K

    How can this be done?

Occasionally I'll miss a sort where a piece of 380 brass gets mixed in with the 9mm. But when I'm cranking along, I'll definitely feel the difference in the first stage pull for resizing, and immediately stop and pull it out. Now running a piece of 40 brass through 45 dies, there can't be...

Your favorite .22 Handgun to carry in the field all day?

I like my wife's S&W 317 kit gun. Incredibly lightweight and accurate. 8 shot is nice. Works great with the super-colibri primer only ammo too. I don't like cleaning it though: for some reason the chambers get crudded up nastier than they should, to where I use a cordless drill to spin...

    More or less accurate?

Agreed on the fun factor. Sure my bolt action is more accurate than my lever, but I'll take the lever out more often because there's something more enjoyable about plinking and just shooting to have fun with it. Out to about 100 yards, it's accurate enough. And I find that using the lever...

    Lieutenant Tolkien's Service Revolver

That's a very cool piece of history, and SlamFire1 thanks for the story. That is very interesting, and really helped me picture what happened and how.
