Gun holster for in your car.

Oh now that is fantastic, and it's something I've had on my mind, thanks for the link!

    full auto glock

That is absolutely awesome! Also, the comment about the theoretical conversation between the cops was awesome!

Ohio CCW holder threatened with execution- what you can do!

After seeing the previous thread on it and then seeing the video posted by The Survival Podcast on Facebook, I watched it and immediately shared it. This sort of thing makes me absolutely sick.

    Ruger scout rifle

The .308 round only loses about 30 feet per second per inch of barrel, so the muzzle velocity loss isn't all that crucial. That's according to the guys at Gunsite, mind you.

    Ruger scout rifle

I absolutely love mine, and I'd suggest doing as Art suggests and doing a thread search. There's a huge amount of fantastic information in those old threads.

    XDM -OD green versus black

I personally prefer black, so I voted for it. That being said, I COMPLETELY agree with the people who said that it's a very personal decision and to just go with what you like. I catch flak from my buddies who use AR style weapons when I pull out my Ruger GSR, but I dig it so I just shrug it off.

How often should you replace your carry ammo?

From what I've been told by my dad, who has years of reloading experience, most modern ammunition isn't really affected by age due to modern primers and powders. I personally like to shoot my +P ammo instead of regular range plinkers from time to time, so I use the occasional change up as an...

    New Ruger Scout Rifle comments

I've not seen them over $799, which is what I paid for mine. I'll pay a little more to support a local merchant. Anywhom, I love mine, and plenty of other people love theirs too. It's a good, solid rifle.

Alternative defense weapon for carry in non-carry places.

BigMustard: I honestly don't know if it's a Federal law or not, but I know that most states do not allow carry in "places of worship" regardless of religion.

Ruger M77 Gunsite Scout rifle 308!

Great purchase man, I love mine!

    Military issue handgun?

Just as possum said, as an Infantryman unless you're in some weird position you don't get a sidearm. Tankers, medics, and some other MOS's get sidearms, but grunts don't... for whatever reason. Never has made any sense to me. That being said, when I was on the battalion level CSD I had the...

Do you keep a rifle within arms reach at home?

I keep one by my bed, but I'd grab my .45 before I grabbed it for fear of injuring/killing a neighbor. It's part of my "just in case" mindset, as is the rifle and my "oh sh*t kit".

    First rifle: Ruger GSR

Alright, first time at the range with it! Sorry about the lack of pics, forgot to charge the camera battery :( Right off the bat I started at 50 yards with 147 gr. FMJ ammo to break in the barrell, shooting 2 rounds, cleaning/cooling, repeat for 5 iterations. Shot 10 more rounds in a row...

    Favorite .45 (non-1911)

I'm also a huge advocate of the XD .45. I've got the full size model, which serves as a carry weapon and a bedside weapon.

    First rifle: Ruger GSR

In addition to the above comments, I'd like to add that the guys at the gunstore were saying that Ruger is working on some less expensive polymer mags. If that proves to be true we could be looking at lighter mags that won't cost half of my kids college fund to purchase.

    First rifle: Ruger GSR

I've seen those M77's on this site as well as scoutrifle.org, they look very similar in appearance (although admittedly I don't know anything else about them haha). I've seen where a lot of people have used the Burris, but I'm definitely going to keep looking through threads and articles to see...

    First rifle: Ruger GSR

Thanks for the positive posts guys :) In regards to scoutrifle.org, I've been waiting three days for that return email saying that I can post there, but I've been doing a good bit of reading on it. I have read various articles and such on sites, as well as a magazine I picked up the...

    First rifle: Ruger GSR

That's kinda what I was thinking since I'm so familiar with it, but I've also read where people tend to put low power "scout" scopes front mounted to increase their ability to hit at a distance, but not so powerful that it 1) "overkills" the length of the barrell and 2) messes you up at close...

    First rifle: Ruger GSR

Hey all, I'm kinda new here; I've posted a few little odds and ends but haven't properly introduced myself yet. I'm not new to shooting, but I haven't tried very many different platforms as I grew up poor and have spent the last 7 years in the Army Infantry shooting what they provide. As such...

    Looking for a range bag.

I'm also a huge fan of the Large range bag from Midway. The middle of it even comes out to make a second, smaller compartment if need be (which is how mine is right now).
