Per a forum member's suggestion I sent the gun photo's to these guys:

... in hopes that they might be able to shed some light.
Haven't got a response yet.
OK, he sent me some more pictures. While the gun is in real good condition, there is just a little bit of bluing wear on the front hinge and the back ring. Also the hex screws on the bottom show some usage marks. Still since he acquired in the late sixties, sure looks good for being over 50...
An associate of mine recently showed me this pistol. Said he received it from the estate of a man of German decent back in 1965. Want's to sell it, and I really want to buy it, but don't know what to offer him at all. Looks like a custom made gun. The only marking on it at all is the number 1944...
I'd say that's about the going price for a new CZ 75B in .40 cal.
gunsamerica.com has offers as low as $380, but you would have to arrange the deal, add your local dealer's FFL charges, shipping and tax as well. So, letting him find you a new one for $435 is well worth it IMHO.

I've bought a few guns at gun shows here in North Carolina. Last time I went to one was last month and I also didn't see any deals as far as price was concerned. Also you have to take into account here the $5 minimum charge for a purchase permit, the $4 for parking and the $6 to get in. Add that...
I carry a CZ 75 P-01 during the warmer weather. The 9 mm CZ is a newer acquisition, but I've really grown quite fond of it. And now with the ban removal I definitely appreciate the 13+1 capacity it has. Just this weekend though I've switched over to my Beretta Cougar 45. It's only slightly...
Well, Charlie, my local gun shop owner learned his lesson recently. He now keeps all his handguns in a safe after hours. He thought the bars on his doors and windows would do the trick. But it didn't stop the perps from driving a stolen car through the entire store front. BTW, he now has also...
