I have a Model 12 Winchester in my collection that I have never shot. Dad had it for years and I think he only shot it one time.

I also load with Unique powder in my 44. 10.5 grs with a 240gr Rainier FP. Shoots great out of my NM and 3 Screw:D

Out of all of the O/U shotguns I have shot 101s, Ithacas, 3200s, Browning, Rugers, and others none of them came up as nicely and shot as good as the Red Labels. Last year we had 15 or so kids join our youth trap shooting club and all of them shot better with the Red Label than the 101, Ithaca...

I carry my Colt Defender in Condition One at all times. Had a guy tell me once that it looked dangerous. I replied "It is only dangerous to the perp I have to pull it on if need be"

Nice looking 101s there Joe. I have a 20ga 101 that Dad bought new in 1974. He passed it on to me in about 81 when he bought a new 101 Pigeon Grade.

There is nothing wrong with the Ruger shotguns. Now that they have quit making them they WILL go up in value. I bought my Gold Label 6 years ago for 1800 and now they are selling USED for 3500 and up. I only wish I had bought 2 of them at the time. Guys that come out here and pheasant hunt all...

There are 2 Model 12s at our local gun shop. One is priced at 700 and in pretty rough shape.

I love the SP101. I bought one for my wife several years ago and she has been very happy with it. Ruger had talked once about making one in a 41 Mag. I would love to have one if they ever decide to make one.

The old Model 12s are my favorite but never cared for the ones with the poly choke. Look them up in the Blue Book and you will see that value is cut 50% for one with a factory poly choke.

drsfmd; you seem to be awfully opinionated regarding this matter. 101s aren't any worse for recoil than any other shotgun I've shot. My 84 year old grandpa shot one for 60 years without problems. My wife loves her 101 and complaining about recoil is the last thing you'll hear out of her mouth...

The red 76 in the far corner is for sale but it has issues. The other three will never be sold, they are part of the family.

There is no such thing as TOO MANY FIREARMS. There is such a problem as NOT ENOUGH ROOM IN THE SAFES THOUGH. I am looking at getting another safe.:D

Find yourself a nice used Ruger Red Label. Be sure and find one with screw in chokes. I am really disappointed to learn that Ruger dropped such a fine shotgun. I have one in a 20 ga and also have a Gold Label SXS 12ga. I gave the Red Label to my daughter when she got into trap shooting three...

Ithaca Model 37 riot gun is what lies under my bed for things that go bump in the night. This same gun served Dad well in Nam in 65 and 66 so I now rely on it to protect my family
