With an upper receiver lapping/squaring tool. Just because I don't post alot doesn't mean that I haven't built more than my fair share of "ACCURATE" AR's.

Lower lugs showing wear and not the top ones is probably caused by the receiver not being squared prior to the barrel being installed. "MAY" wear out the bolt sooner to where a lug breaks, more than likely not. You really can't tell whats going on with it until you shoot it.
20 inch .223 Wylde for prairie dogs and an 18 inch 6.8 SPCII for deer and hogs. Both barrels from a guy in Tenn. Both are more accurate than my 2 Rem 700's
I started my daughter out at 8 years old with an AR15 223 + a 2x7 scope, using 62gr Federal fusions. 4 weekends of practice from a bench then off to the blind. She killed 4 deer in 4 years with 4 shots ranging from 65yrds to 95 yrds. She now has her own AR chambered in 6.8.
It wasn't the extractor. Savage re-reamed the chamber for burrs. It seems they had either a bad or worn out reamer on thier earlier runs. When I returned it, 4th round, the empty was still in the chamber and the bolt would NOT open. It's very accurate but it'll be a safe queen until I sell it or...
I had to send mine back also for the same reason, not ejecting the spent round. After several weeks I got it back and 1 out of about 10 rounds have to be poped out with my knife. NOT IMPRESSED.
"Wylde chambers are safe for 5.56, but when hot the user may experience sticking cases."
Have you witnessed this or is it something you've read or been told? My grandkids have done a ton of mag dumps through my ARP .223 wylde with nary a hickup. Also run it on 3 gun with no problems.
After more than a 4 month wait I finally receivd my B-MAG. 1 shot and the bolt wouldn't open. Slammed it with my palm and the bolt came up. Bolt wouldn't pull back so I slammed it with my palm and the bolt came back and kept right on going, broke the bolt stop. Empty stuck in the chamber. I took...
Winchester rep I talked to at my LGS said they're making it everyday but it'll take at least 6 months to get out to most places. Right now they're sending most of it to their main retailers.
Mounting on top of a carry handle is going to make for a bad cheek weld and could disappoint a young shooter with the lack of accuracy. Try the irons for awhile. She's young and should have the best chance at hitting stuff to begin with.
Look around for a used Stevens Model 19 NRA. It will shoot with the VERY best of todays modern super duper target rifles. They came with Lyman target peep sights and they are capable of 1 hole 50yrd. groups.
