congrats on the new gun!
I had one and loved it. Had to sell it though. Look into skinner sights.
I do have a whole reloading set for it. Dies, bullet mold, starline brass, even shell boxes.
PM me if interested.
I have the same problem. I use one of these on my 30-06 and about to set up my ar with one. I leave it set on low power.

How Canting Your Rifle Affects Long Range Accuracy
By Carl Taylor

As for the high power...
Imagine the cant as severe as a 45 degree angle and then imagine what adjusting the scope would to to point of impact at different ranges and you will start to see the problem.
The reticle must be inline with the bore axis.
I prefer good paper towels instead of tp. No tear through and easier to handle when squattin. Lets face it you don't have to flush it out there and thats what toilet paper is designed for. I also keep a small bottle of water for washing up after field dressing. Paper towels are much better...
Use a flattop AR15 with brown furniture, a standard stock, no tall front sight and 10 round mags that don't stick out of the bottom and most people couldn't distinguish it from a regular hunting rifle.
I would like to put together an upper and would like some help on sourcing parts and the options available for what I want to do. This would be my first AR upper but I have experience with working on other guns and have pretty good mechanical ability. I have read the guidebooks found elsewhere...
I know some people have the guns that work flawlessly, I had one that didn't. Someone else had one with problems too. I offered my experience because he seemed to be getting chastised for offering his story.
You know, I have heard people really deride the Kel Tec P3AT. I have two of them...
Yep, did all that, could not rotate the cylinder by hand after hammer was resting in the slot.
Cylinder still found a way to move while in pocket. Even used the leather pocket holster.
I had this same problem, tried to get it fixed and still had problems and I was so ANAL about making sure the hammer was in the notch it was no fun to carry. I even called NAA and followed verbal directions over the phone and I still had problems with the cylinder moving while in my pocket...
I actually have a drawing done of a barrel straightener that uses a lever and hydraulic jack so I have some control over trying it. This way I can put a light at the end and apply pressure as I watch the light pattern in the tube. I was going to build it on 1/2" plate and use solid 1" round...
Yep, Mr. Skinner made me one over .6 inches high. After doing the math I would need a sight more than .75 inches high even with a barrel dovetail sight. Not optimal
The biggest advantage to red dot or anything similar is that everything is on the same plane of focus.
No lining things up between different planes of focus.
since you can get dots in different MOA diameters you can have what you want.
Problems... I am out of ideas.
I have tried multiple sight options including skinner apertures and other ladder type sights. Both barrel and reciever mounted.
Rifle still shoots 8 inches high at 25 meters (measured). Groups at 100 meters range from nickel to quarter size just really...
