Okay...back from Michigan. How the heck is everyone?

How would you know whos the bad guy?

I am not looking to jump in the fight, I am looking to get out of there any way I can. I DO NOT want to creep over to the fight to see if I can add myself into it if they were already doing just fine killing each other without me. I like that answer. Gang bangers and scumbags thinning their...

    Phoenix C-Store at night.

Maybe THESE points can be gleaned from it.... I think several things might have come to light here: 1. Regardless of how young and tough you might think you are: Old guys didn't get to be old by not being prepared like a boy scout. = Be careful who you mess with. 2. Don't be a reciprocal...

    Phoenix C-Store at night.

Really? I mean really? That I told him I couldn't start the truck right then, and that it would just be a couple of minutes in a polite manner, rather than as you suggest, telling him in what would be considered a more terse and confrontational manner to go ahead and use it? THAT is the straw...

I think several things might have come to light here: 1. Regardless of how young and tough you might think you are: Old guys didn't get to be old by not being prepared like a boy scout. 2. Don't be a reciprocal jerk. Don't buy into the nonsense of the young punk, and show how tough you...

    Phoenix C-Store at night.

As it stated in the OP....Dave had his truck parked under one of the big lights CLOSE TO BUT NOT BLOCKING the air. I could have easily pulled my 3/4 ton truck up to the air hose...so fitting the Cutlass in there would have been like tossing a hotdog into a hallway....more than enough room...

Meh...it's Phoenix. There's a lot to like about most of the valley. But the fact is, no matter where you go you will find jerks. I am more than willing to bet, that had they seen Dave before he popped up from under the truck, not a word would have been said. All they saw was one guy in his...

If we used videos to study what works on the street

I think it's foolish to discount the experience of others as a learning tool. Would you think Col. Cooper, Clint Smith, or Mas Ayoob were not worth listening to? Granted, you have to go beyond the video to truly learn and absorb the skills you are taught, especially if you are learning from...

If we used videos to study what works on the street

Definitely interesting. I am glad he was okay....he sure did spread the lead around though. You used your hammer on the nail correctly when you said he ought to get some training.

Amen armor.....I can't imagine them using it in the same sentence for sure. What part of the sunshine state do you hail from?

I guess you'd have to ask Sam 1911...I used no offensive language, and -------'d out any expletives and didn't use #@%&$ for any "net cuss". But apparently I got a warning because of offensive, and creative language. So I re-edited it here: I drove from my home near Payson AZ to downtown...

Hell fire...if it would have been simple fisticuffs...Dave and I would have been picking our teeth with their bones. I'm a retired cop...Dave is a retired Army Master Sergeant (E8) Airborne Ranger with Panama in 89, Desert Storm, Somalia, an Afghanistan tour and two Iraq tours under his belt...

    Phoenix C-Store at night.

I drove from my home near Payson AZ to downtown Phoenix last night. A good friend had blown a radiator hose, and was stranded in the parking lot of a Circle K at the corner of 3rd Ave and Osborn. Not a great neighborhood by any stretch of the imagination, but not a war zone as much of central...

    I kind'a scared myself today

I am glad you AND YOUR DAD are okay! The "mouse gun" I keep on me all the time, even at home is a Glock 22! I don't even have to think about where that pesky closest gun is...it's on my hip. Some folks have thought me to be just a bit on the paranoid side until one night a couple of...

What would get you to shoot?

If I have the luxury of options, I will always opt not to have to shoot someone. I am not a huge believer in shooting to protect property in most cases. If some jackbag wants my truck...take it. I have gap and replacement insurance, and the color is not my favorite to begin with. You see...

What would the best action if this happen to you?

In that line of work...it seems to me that you have already "pre-accepted" that kind of risk. I am not saying what the animal pack did was right, but let's face it...if you kick a pitbull in the butt, he's probably going to bite you...so don't whine about it later. You should be prepared...

AAR: I.C.E. Combat Focus Shooting Jan 29-30

Rob's a great teacher. I say this even though he's a pal. He is one of the best for sure. I rank him right up there with Cllint Smith and Mas Ayoob.

How often do you get to the range?

I live on 15 acres out in the country. I get to my range almost every day...even if it's just with a .22 pistol. :neener:

I think I got the point across this time.

Wow...very seldom am I ever taken aback by the use of logic and common sense, as those two attributes appear to have ben removed from the collective consciensness of the vast majority of people in the US. Here's to you Owen. Nicely done sir, and OUTSTANDING.

How Do You Justify, In Your Mind, Large Gun Collections?

I don't see a need to justify my collection to myself or anyone. I worked hard, I collected smartly, and built a nice collection. Why should my collection of guns need justification any more than my collection of fishing tackle or horse paraphernalia?
