I have 2 Kimbers and 2 Colts all are the older series 70 style they feel the same in my hands but I prefer to shoot my Kimbers my friend has a Ruger SR1911 and shoots it all the time
Get a older Kimber I have a Kimber Classic Gold Match and have not had any troubles with it. My son has a Springfield and shoots it everyday with no problems don't think you can go wrong with either one
I bought my wife and daughter a S&W M&P 9c because we could not find a Shield and they like the feel of them just a little bigger than the Shield but put the small back strap in and fits there hands great
I like the S&W M&P it has 3 different size back straps for any size hand, and if you put a Apex trigger kit in it will shorten and smooth up the trigger pull on them can't go wrong with a Smith
I put a 15# recoil spring and a 19# main spring in my .45's and showed my wife and daughter both the over hand style let them practice at home with a unloaded gun and now they have no problems but I do load lighter loads for them to shoot
I have installed the Apex FSS trigger in all my M&P's it shortens the trigger pull to mimic a 1911 trigger all mine have about a 4.5# pull it is by no means a 1911 trigger but it is pretty dang close I just bought a 9c and going to put a Apex trigger in it to
I have a older Colt Mustang and a Colt MK IV series 80 in a .380 both guns shoot great I carry the mustang because it is a little smaller both are great guns
