Talk me out of an Uberti

Great looking guns. Probably a very slight timing issue on the hombre it seems, but that is somewhat normal with these guns too from what I've seen. I love the matte look on that with the brass...I might have to get one.

    Very nice. Love that..Dalton?

Talk me out of an Uberti

Mine are all Cimarron (Uberti models). My older Model P (6 or 7 years old) has no centering issues with hammer knurling and all the parts fit perfectly. The new Model P that I just bought, last month, has fit and finish issues and the bad knurling. I just bought two hammers from Taylors and...

Talk me out of an Uberti

I'm with you. My OCD can't take it. But how this is acceptable to their quality people I don't know....

Talk me out of an Uberti

Those are both beautiful for different reasons. I love the subtlety of the older model, but that new case color does give it a bit of something nice to look at.

Talk me out of an Uberti

The older one I've shot dozens of time and it's beautiful. The new one I haven't had out to shoot yet..trying to find .45 lc around here is nigh impossible. :) That's a good idea. I just got a second in the mail (I ordered a second hoping for better luck, but also just to have a spare...

Talk me out of an Uberti

I might be late to the party. I own a few uberti/cimarron guns, and I'd say to be careful. I purchased a (Model P, 1873 style single action, Prewar) 6 or 7 years ago and another this year. Other than the conversion to the 3-click retractable hammer, the guns look just the same....except the...

    Revolver Dilemma

I finally got me M642 in, I love it. I thank you guys for all your great recommendations, you did not steer me wrong. But boy with the +p, It's got a little snap to it, but I like it. It lets you know it's there, haha. And the darn thing fits right in my pocket. CZF from the boards here...

    SS Evolution on Marlin 60

You are mostly right. They were originally for that..then they started making some test stocks for 60s and 795s. And they sell like hotcakes. So now they offer a stock that fits either 60s or 795s. The catch? It doesn't fit either gun without a little woodworking....hilarious. However, if...

    SS Evolution on Marlin 60

The 795 requires a little work around the trigger guard and a hole cut for the magazine. I think it is already a bit pre-routed in the case of the magazine though, you just have to punch the rest of the way through. Looks good for sure on the 795. They also have a thumbhole stock that...

    SS Evolution on Marlin 60

Exactly!. That is why I don't understand why it needs to then be modified. If I am paying more for the stock than the gun is worth, I would hope I wouldn't have to hack and chisel on it. I was just hoping someone here has done it before....:(

    SS Evolution on Marlin 60

Anyone worked with this stock? Apparently it is not channeled for the tube feed. Unfortunately, it is sold as 60/795, so it is not truly made to fit the 60 exactly. Not really sure how cool I am with buying this "finished" stock and then channeling it out. Not even sure I could do it. Anyone...

    Who here DOESN'T own a .22lr?

I've got a cheap Marlin Model 60 SB stainless just for random plinkin' and I let my fiance shoot it a lot when we go to the range because she doesn't like the kick of the other guns so much. lol Other than that, it basically sits there. But I guess it is mandatory to have.

How do you keep from ripping skin off with +p ammo and a 442?

Well if you want comfort the Hogue grips cover up the entirety of the metal backstrap...you gain comfort but lose some concealment I would think... http://www.grips4guns.com/revolver/smithwesson/item_1711024.html

    Revolver Dilemma

Thank you sir. The support here for S&W was the deciding factor, and I've never owned one. It's time. Ha. I was afraid someone would say this. I like both..and the variety of grips available for the 642 really helped. I like the idea I can dress her up for various occasions. A grown man...

Refinish or leave it like this?

Leave it. Or send it to me. Either is good.

    Revolver Dilemma

Really good advice from you all. Some hilarious comments as well..about my hump preferences...:D M642 it is. I just called my guy and had him put a hold on a M642 instead and transfer my deposit over to the new gun. Since it is about $100 cheaper than the LCR i wanted, I'm sure I'll get it...

    Revolver Dilemma

Yeah. And funny enough you always hear about how light and compact the LCR is, but the 642 is pretty much the same size, and definitely lighter. Maybe a little uglier, but you can find them for $350..... I think my choice is nearly made. Thanks for your input.

    Revolver Dilemma

That's how I feel about it myself. I can't see why a gun that is half-polymer costs more than a solid metal gun....
