Thanks guys, I think Im going to go with the Sparc. What did it for me is the lifetime, no questions asked warranty. I would hate to buy a used aimpoint, and it go TU a month later and im left with a paperweight.

HR, why do you prefer the Vortex over the Aimpoint? Honest question.

I cant afford a new Aimpoint, but I see used beat up one's on ebay all the time that go between $200 and $300. I used one in Iraq and loved it. What do you guys think about buying used, as far as life span. Thanks.

I got a Field Sport 12" handguard and a upper with forward assist and dust cover installed. Spent $140 at the gun show. Ive still got to get the gas block and tube, BCG, charging handle, flash supressor and sights, but its getting close to finished, at least for now lol.

I got the lower and the barrel yesterday, and there is a gun show this weekend, so hopefully Ill have most of what I need to finish my build tomorow.

As far as the sights go, I spent 12 years in the army from 98 to 2010, and I only used iron sights untill I got sent to the big sandbox. Once I started using my Aimpoint CCO I fell in love, lol. There is nothing better for up close target acquisition. I still prefer iron sights for longer range...

I live in Kansas City. None of the Wal-Mart's here in town sell guns, but they do sell ammo. If you drive about 10-15 miles outside of the city, those Wal-Marts do sell guns.
