AR 15s in calibers other than 5.56 NATO

I have two AR's, both are in 6.8 spc II. Not even interested in anything else.

Durability of Commander vs LW Commander

I am a LW commander fan, I owned a gov't size, steel commander and lightweight commander all together at one time. While the full size had the less abrupt and most comfortable recoil of the three, I found the LW commander had less "snappy" feeling recoil than the steel commander. I'm not really...

Deciding on the next gun: 45acp

A lightweight commander is my favorite handgun of all time......and I've had many handguns.

How effective is the 45 ACP Ball round for self-defense?

This vid from Paul Harrell says hardball is hard to beat on cougar and bear at the 23:12 mark. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7gtTEEm1-1A&pp=ygUUcGF1bCBoYXJyZWxsIDQ1IGFjcCA%3D As far as the military being stuck using fmj's I'd much rather use 45 acp over 9mm. Even better is a lightweight...

If you started your gun journey over...

I remember buying my first gun, it was a Remington 870 Express I had to put on layaway at K-Mart back in 1990(?) and it was only $289. My second was a Marlin 60, then a Ruger GP-100 4" bbl and fourth was a Glock 21. I sold off the GP-100 but still have the same 870 and Marlin 60 and I am going...

What's the Anti's next move to ban Assault Weapons & Mags when SCOTUS rules they are protected?

If we all refuse to turn in our weapons, it won't matter what they do.

    What caliber would you buy?

It would be hard to find a gun store or walmart that did not stock .30-06 ammo.

Thinking of Ditching the 357 Magnum

I've owned .357's before and after using one on a hog outdoors, without hearing protection, I swore I'd never do it again. I could not imagine firing one in any enclosed area without hearing protection, so I essentially found no need for the .357 out of a handgun. There are cartridges that...

Do I really need a Forward Assist?

Nah, you don't need it, or a dust cover, or a shell deflector....

    G3 or AK47

I've owned a PTR-91, twice. I bought my first SLR-95 in 1999, I still have it and sold a PTR-91 to get another SLR-95. Get a good AK, put an ULTIMAK tube/rail on it, add a red dot and your good to go. I prefer 20-round mags to the 30-rounders. The ergo's on the PTR sucked, like working the...

    Ruger EC9S

I have the EC9s, so does my wife and one of my daughters. The trigger is better on it than the G43, I like that it has a manual safety too. I removed the magazine disconnect safety, added a hogue hand-all grip sleeve and a clip draw for ccw. It's my only ccw piece and has been utterly reliable...

    Metal framed 9mms

I spent alot of time searching for an all-metal handgun, the choices were between the Beretta 92G series, CZ compact, Browning Hi Power, S&W 5903, Sig P226 and P229. I ended up buying a lightly used P229 for < $600. That thing is a smooth shooter and scary accurate too.
