Thinking about an all around rifle. Am I thinking right?

h&r makes a good quality cheaper gun, which also allows for barrel swapping, although i have never done this myself. some people knock h&r, but i have had good luck, and whatever you get, if you dont like it, sell it and try again!

How do I fix a front tube sight dovetail

whats wrong with shimming the sight with brass shim stock? cut a strip longer than the sight base, wrap the shim over the end so it doesnt slip off, and tap it in. trim the extra when done.

    New Ruger Single Ten

MacTec, im guessing it has the smaller bore, because lr is the only bullet this gun is intended to shoot. i on the other hand would prefer interchangeable cylinders, one for mag/wrf, and one for s/l/lr.

    New Ruger Single Ten

for all those that don't like the sights, its not that hard to put on a dovetail ramp and whatever sight you prefer. the ramp is less than 20 from marble sights, and the inserts are cheap too.

    H&r 22 special

hahahaha. plenty of other guns on hand! i didnt think it was all that bad as far as getting it back together. just wish i had all the good tools, and a good gun clamp. im pretty sure the hammer is hardened. i think i will have a gunsmith look at it, there is a chance its a bad spring, and there...

.44 mag carbine bullet weights for whitetail.

all of the bullet choices sound good, as long as they are accurate. has anyone encountered problem with oal on some of the heavier loads[like the 270 gr]? my marlin 1894 just wont feed them, even seated all the way down. just something to look at i guess. would hate to see bambi get away because...

    hunting with a .410 shotgun

it could be done, no question. it could probably be done with a big enough slingshot, if you wanted to roll the dice, and didnt care about the animal or how humanely it is killed.

    h&r 22 SPECIAL parts.

    Recent hog control research

isnt that a contradiction? how can we fix it without further mucking around? i didnt intend to imply that we introduce more predators, i meant that the pigs population will continue to increase until either the predators population increases to balance the birth rate of the hogs, or the food...

poison is bad news. <deleted> hunting and predation are the answer, but no one wants more wolves or coyotes.

    Lever action or semi-auto .22?

lever action all day. i also have a 39a. first and favorite gun. never gotten a tired arm from shooting. didnt like a scope on it though, because it was a little heavy to carry. i think semi autos are typically lighter, if that matters.
