    Goonerized 51 Navy

Just received my 51 Navy from Mike. Well worth the wait. Mike did a fantastic job fixing a broken index pin and loose arbor besides His other magic. Thanks, Mike.

    Goons Gunworks Query

I've called Mike a few times to see if He was still alive and well. He responded back in the affirmative. He slicked up a Santa Barbara 58 for me a few years back and did an outstanding job. He currently has my 2nd Edition Colt 51. I've missed it so much that I bought another one. So now I...

Broken alignment pin in the frame of my 2nd Gen 51 Navy

Denster: the broken pin is tight enough not to want to move up or down. Even tried a strong magnet ( no dice )

Broken alignment pin in the frame of my 2nd Gen 51 Navy

44 Dave: Not to show my ignorance, but what is a "dutchman". Looks like the pin is very tight in the 2nd Gen ( Uberti ?). When I tried to drill it seemed as though the broken pin wanted to rotate thus disallowing and drill purchase.

Broken alignment pin in the frame of my 2nd Gen 51 Navy

HELP!!! I picked up a used 51 Navy at a decent price, with the understanding that one of the alignment (broken off) pins was snapped of in the frame. I've very carefully tried to drill it out, but I'm afraid the drill is just spinning the broken pin. I don't want to enlarge the diameter of...

    The THR 1851/1860 Club

A most excellent looking revolver. I'm impressed with your shooting. Gotta lay off the Remies and take my Centaur to the range. Haven't had a chance to put her through the paces as yet.

    Rusty nipples in Colt Revolver

Excellent method Dawg. The only thing I did was place the device on a drill press and used the quill to apply just enough vertical force to prevent the wrench from camming of the nipple. Used this method on a couple of 1965 vintage Centennials.

    Buttoning up the open tops

I to have used the Dillon buttons on a couple colt replicas. Other than the trepidation of drilling the hole centered and vertical, the worked like a charm.

    James Butler Hickok

My picky, over-analytical mind cringes when a form of carbon is called "black lead". :o

    Wooden projectiles

As an interesting aside, I have a couple 7.7 Japanese rounds in my collection that have wooden bullets.

Loading 58 army cylindar off the Revolver

I guess I'm waxing a bit anal today while I was at the range. Do any of you fellow shooters worry about un-due wear on the revolver by repeatedly taking the cylinder out of the revolver for loading??

Did TRESO go out of business?

You may want to consider "Slix-Shot" cones.

    THR Remington 1858 Club

D.Buck I was wondering about that dull finish. thanks for the explanation. The factory finish on my 1990 Shooter's Model Pietta rivals the finish on my new Uberti 1858.
