    Dan Wesson 15

We can provide lots of help at The Dan Wesson Forum. A Dan Wesson small frame grip should work on your DW, and EWK Arms (found on the sidebar at DWF) does make an adapter to allow standard (non "PorkChop) barrel assemblies. That adapter shows as currently "out of stock", he will likely be making...

    Will Brasso work on nickel?

When dealing with bright nickle, be careful using anything that removes copper. Nickel is/was most commonly plated over a copper substrate layer and copper cleaners/removers might might get under the nickel and break down the copper base coat which would result in the nickel flaking or peeling.

Any personal experience on Dan wesson 715

We have several members on the Dan Wesson Forum that own the "new" 715, they seem to be very happy with them. The CZ/DW 715 is true to the original design, there is a lot the owner can easily do tune and enhance the action. And, you can change the barrel length in about 30 seconds

Every revolver should be available with this barrel length

I chose 4", because it's my favorite. I know it's my favorite because I own Dan Wesson revolvers, and I have shot them with 8/6/4/2-1/2" for many years.

    Merit optical aid

I've had one for years. Yes it works, I use mine mostly for .22 lr 50' target shooting

Need info on Dan Wesson 740

Actually, that is a great price, especially with a 4" barrel, that is pretty uncommon for that gun. A 4" .357 SuperMag will be a real handful (no pun intended) to shoot, and ammunition is challenging to find. You can shoot .357 Magnum in that gun as well. Try...

    Nickel finish question

The nickel finish is resistant to the cleaner, the problem comes in if there is a scratch, nick, or ding in the finish that allows the copper removing cleaner to get access to the copper substrate. Once that happens, the copper starts to degrade and allows the nickel finish to flake and peel. I...

    Dan Wesson Pistol kits

An original Pistol Pack would have been 2-1/2, 4, 6, 8" barrel assemblies, in a "briefcase" with the barrel removal tool, possibly a belt buckle or embroidered patch, manual ... 10" and 15" would not have normally been in a Pistol Pack, they are pretty uncommon and are pretty desirable ($$$$)...

    Arguing About The Rules

And when it's being cleaned, repaired, or otherwise handled, it's in a completely different area from ammunition (preferably a different room, but sometimes not possible)

Just moved to Fairfield County CT

Welcome to CT (I hope). As long as you did not bring any "assault weapons" or magazines over 10 rd capacity, you should be OK. If you expect to buy ammunition, please remember to apply for your "Ammunition Permit". And if you plan to get a Permit to Carry Pistol or Revolver, stand by...

New Dan Wesson's from CZ: Will there be a .44?

No secret that DW is fully bought in on 1911's, and they have a well earned reputation in the 1911 community. The OP was about revolvers and, again there is no indication that CZ will venture into the revolver market with anything other than a generic 6" stainless .357 in limited quantities...

New Dan Wesson's from CZ: Will there be a .44?

Thank you, I was not aware of that. Actually, my son is the second owner of S/N 00001 .445 Supermag (it is not identified as an Alaskan). He bought it unfired complete as original at a local gun shop. The original owner traded it in on another purchase after it spent a few years in his safe.

New Dan Wesson's from CZ: Will there be a .44?

What SuperMags did CZ produce? Bob Serva did a great job with a wide variety of calibers and specialty revolvers in the Norwich facility before CZ bought him out. In fairness, DW in Norwich still supports the original DW revolver designs with parts and gunsmithing services, but it's clear...

    WALKIND DEAD no .22LR

I'm a little surprised (but not concerned) that this Topic is still open. Zombies/Walking Dead/World War Z... are all entertaining. I'm not sure any of us will ever have firsthand knowledge regarding .22 LR versus Zombie. If this actually becomes an issue, I'm hoping that several thousand...

New Dan Wesson's from CZ: Will there be a .44?

CZ shows no real commitment to DW revolvers, batch production, then not available. It would surprise me to see them get into .44 Magnum. Their smartest move would be to resume production of the Super Magnum and Silhouette guns. They could reasonably command the $1200-1500 that CZ seems to...

    Dan Wesson

Just to help folks understand, EWK is a sideline business for Eric. His business is a NOT BIG tool and die/machine shop, and the firearms accessories don't come close to paying the bills. When he has the opportunity he designs and produces specialty accessories for DW revolvers as well as...

    Dan Wesson

Dan Wesson cannot help with dating that gun from the S/N, but The Dan Wesson Forum can. That is a Model 15-2 made in 1979, and as already observed it has a .22 lr shroud mounted, very easy to do and completely safe. The 15-2 is chambered in .357 Magnum.

    Detroit must be getting desperate

I'd rather think they are getting sensible, not desperate.

    Dan Wesson

To be clear, the barrel is not interchangeable between calibers, the shrouds are, as long as they are for the small frame Dan Wesson revolver. The barrels and frames are threaded differently for .22lr and .357 Mag to avoid inadvertently shooting the wrong caliber in a barrel. Shrouds are...

Dan Wesson Revolvers question - need info

I've owned about a dozen DW revolvers over the years, .22/.357/.44/.445. Finally settled down to just 3: Actually, I have one more stainless 715 that I'm slowly doing a high polish on.
