Could you "point" your HP handgun bullet for better penetration?

Why bother :eek:with filling / plugging HP bullets. Sound like to me, all you need are some good Hard cast, or solids of some sort. I would take a look at either Cor-bon, DoubleTap , Buffalo-Bore they all have some good loads for woods carry. Good luck and be safe. You can use Hard Cast lead...

    AR-10

You can not go wrong with the Armalite AR10a2 or a4. Have had mine for approx eight years now. I do have a 338Federal upper for the old girl 308 for Caribou and 338 for moose. Mil-surp ball ammo for fun. 300WSM (whisper) is another one i have seen on an AR10.

    Dealers selling to "unsavory" characters

Over the years i have belonged to a few biker type clubs. I recall one very warm August day in Maine. Our club was holding a Poker Run. The way it worked was you had a set number of check points to sign in at. At that time you was given a single playing card. At the end of the day the rider with...

    Raw venison

Just give me a red hot knife and let me slice off a steak as the critter walks by. If you can do CPR and revive it. It is good eaten. Even so with water foul... Bear and pork will done please. Nothing wrong with a good backstrap off the first kill of the season before you start packing out...

    AR's @ Wal-Mart

I would not want to be on the business end of any of them, be it DPMS, Colt, Bushmaster, Armalite . I do not have a DPMS. Do have the other three name brands. My next is going to be DPMS. I have shot a few of them and DO LIKE them.

Is a 20 inch barrel good enough for a 308 hunting rifle?

I have a 308 with 18 inch bbl, Old Remington 660 , My AR10 w/20 inch bbl, and a Howa 308 w/24 inch bbl. I would not hesitate to take anyone of them hunting. The only problem with the 660 in 308. You do need a burn permit from the BLM or state forestry service. She is a flame thrower.

What guns would you go for in a raffle?

How about a good 50 caliber black powder in-line muzzle loader. This way you can cut out the middle man. No FFL, No transfers needed, No back ground checks. Just my thoughts on this. For that price you could have one rifle and a matching caliber revolver. Another plus is if the winner happens...

Back in the day before all of this new high tech equipment. Sound suppressors etc. When i was in college working with Fish & Game, State Troopers. and local law enforcement. The weapon of choice for poaching moose, deer was the old 12ga. single shot shotgun w/slugs. It killed them dead and...

    Foster shotgun slug for Moose?

My first question is What choke is the 12 ga barrel? A mod. bbl is what should work the best with a smooth bore slug gun. At Least it is a good all-round choke for slugs/buck shot/ bird shot. That being said i would opt for a 30.06, if for no other reason. It would be easier on the wallet and...
