I do know. Leave, and give the cops a call. Describe the exact place, who is coming to harm you, what they said, word for word, and what they drive. The cops might want to be there to meet them. Someone wants to threaten bodily harm--actually name the place, means, and time of harm--goodness...

    Florida and Arizona shooting ranges

Ben Avery is indeed top notch. It's very safely run and yet not overly restrictive. For example, there are no restrictions on rapid fire, fully automatic is allowed, firing from any position is allowed, etc.

Do you avoid going to countries that don't respect RKBA?

Yes, but also states and businesses. Because those who support the erosion of our rights should not be rewarded with my money. Because my rights are not--well, I wish there were not--negotiable. Because my country should be free.

Mimicking Shooting Someone with a Handgun

The laws justifying the use of deadly force vary from state to state, but in my state (Arizona), the use of deadly force would not have been justified. I am not sure whether or not my state's law would justify the threat of use of of deadly force, but I wouldn't consider it wise in that...

What's the strangest thing that's happened to you while...

This isn't really odd, but it stands out in my mind as one of the rootenest, tootenest, funnest times I've ever had at the range. It's easy for me to get real serious when I get to the range, but there's one gal in particular I know from the Annie Oaklies that took all the serious out of me one...

Guess What I Found In The Alley

The problem with saying "Hispanic" is that it introduces needless information and leaves out important information. Is Hispanic normal for that neighborhood, or not? Do your kids have Hispanic friends? Are there Hispanic neighbors? Without context--the vital information that has been left...

.22lr Federal on sale for $9: "Is this for a handgun?"

The machine makes them ask so that they don't sell handgun ammo to minors. Nothing sinister afoot at Wal-Mart. Talk to your legiscritters about getting silly laws changed so that retailers will stop feeling the legal burden of playing Q&A.

    Are Gun Forums becoming P.C...

THR is on a PR mission. It's not "PC" to insist that we act like it.

Bad dreams involving failed self defense with guns?

Yep, had 'em. But I don't read anything into them. Your brain paralyzes your body during sleep. That causes strange effects in your dreams, but the effects, like the dreams, have no meaning. Freud made a great living out of interpreting things that deserve no interpretation.

    Appleseed Target Brutality

Appleseed Promotional target, 15 meters/15 yards/50 feet. Intended to be left as freebies at rifle ranges (or just print 'em out & shoot 'em yourself). Didactic and I did this a while back. I'm pleased that this is getting play. Thanks for trying it!

    Question re: Potential ban

The smart money is to play politics as hard as you possibly can, to prevent such a thing from happening, and to undo such things as have happened. Planning for the bad thing to happen while working hard for the good thing to happen is called having a backup plan. Planning for the bad thing to...

"I Designed A Pillow That Safely & Comfortably Stores a Handgun. What do you think?"

It may be a good idea, but I could not tell. As I tried to read it, the web site kept blinking at me and pulling my eye away. This is a fault in my brain, I am afraid. Things that blink make it impossible for me to focus. Sorry. You may wish to visit some pages or see some books on web...

    Unarmed defense against a handgun

Watching Yojimbo, a Samurai movie made in the early 60's, the hero, armed only with a sword and a short knife, faces off a man armed with a pistol. The hero ran rapidly sideways and towards the gunman, a move now being taught by Gabe Suarez and others 50 years later. The gunman did get a shot...

    If You Open Carry

Even if. Even if it makes me less safe, sometimes, I am willing to be less safe. I don't carry openly for my safety. I carry openly because this right is not a shameful secret.

State authorities asking gun owners to allow guns to be test fired.

That this could help has (1) not been demonstrated, and (2) is not sufficient reason to voluntarily permit this degree of government intrusion into such a critical aspect of the people's civil rights.

State authorities asking gun owners to allow guns to be test fired.

The other real question is, if you didn't do it, why would you turn your gun in for testing? What have you got to gain? If I went to my lawyer, and asked him if I should voluntarily submit to a police search, or ballistics test, or lie detector test or anything else, what do you think he would...

    Fatal Combat

War? Mafia? Gang? Fatal Combat? The purpose of The High Road, if I can recall how I've heard Oleg state it, is to become the highest quality gun discussion site on the web, so that there would be a new face for the discussion of gun rights. One that is rational, calm, and not marred by...
