    Ruger SR1911, Springfield Armory Loaded

1911 choice It is really hard to consider the Springfield like, cause thy all are direct, although more spendy, versions of the Glock line up. Ruger is proven, and warranty is great. I chose a Para GI Expert .45 then recently got a Para Expert .45. Different pistols all together...I prefer...

    Dedicated HD pistol - Opinions

Home defense Problem that seems to be overlooked is that no one is going to be on target under home invasion circumstances. So, if you miss, will the 9mm or .45 go into the neighbor's house, or car, or? Idea posed was a short barrel shotgutgum. My favorite is a 20 or 14 gauge. If it misses...

CZ 75 satin stainless vs Beretta 92 FS INOX

CZ pistols or Beretta Beretta (SP?) had a lot of problems before being bought out by Taurus. CZ has been a quality design for years, such that there are many clones/copies. The Baretta line, to me, is overweight, has or had poor customer service and has lately come out with a lot of new stuff...

    SP101 or S&W 632 for .327 magnum

.327 revolver S&W nice but way too costly for some of us (me, especially at fixed income retiree). GP-100 will be my next .327. I have a .327 Ruger Black Hawk and Taurus in the same caliber. The versatility of shooting four different bullets makes hunting for ammo a lot easier than looking...

Identity and Date of Manufacture of S&W Revolvers

S&W .38 Spl of some kind I will be getting a .38 Spl six shot S&W in the next month or so. Former Sacramento, California LEO gun, 4 in barrel, serial #865546. Cant tell you anything more as my brother, owner for now, has no clue as to what model it is. Blueing is good with a few holster...

    I need a 1911 to compete with a friend's Springer trophy match..

1911 Competition ready gun What about the Para GI45. Both the stainless and blued models have good reputation for out of the box accuracy and quality of finish/workmanship. Fuzzball:)

    Taurus 327 Mag from CDNN

.327 Magnum for recoil sensitive I have two revolvers in .327 Magnum. The Taurus .327M is a 2 5/8 incher and by NM Blackhawk is 5 1/2. Great guns, easy to aim and shoot. I got the .327 because my wife is terminally ill and has a weak grip. The recoil of these guns. especially when shooting the...

Help picking a full size 357 mag revolver

S&W vs Ruger S&W are over rated and over priced, quality control is a thing of the past and competition smiths require $$$$$$ from the custom gun shop. Rugers are tanks and workhorses. at several hundreds of dollars less for new, or used, the custom work is becomes an affordable option...

Bought a new Kel Tec PF-9

Kel-Tec PF-9 I had one, traded it in. Recoil too much for my wife, even I had trouble holding POI consistently. My 70 yr old hands are too arthritic to take much recoil. But, the PF-9 looked good, ran good and was easily concealed and easy to access when needed. Fuzzball

What is the deal with the "disappearing" combat trigger guards???

Hooked trigger guard I used the good old Dremel tool and ground down the most obnoxious part of my Glock 22. I also have a conversion barrel for 9mm that I use more than the .40 caliber. My wife and I both appreciate the clean curve of our modified trigger guard. Just did it to stamp my own...

    ruger p95 or sd40

Choices; how fun The P95 is easy to aim (accurate), little recoil and the 9mm ammo is relatively cheap. The SD 40 has too much recoil for my 70 yr old hands, the ammo is more 'spensive than 9mm. I traded mine for a Glock 40, got a conversion barrel (9mm) so I now have choices. Recoil from...
