    Cottonmouth Vs Kel Tec

That is not a water moccasin(as in cottonmouth). You shot a non-venomous snake from what I can see there.

Guy wants to run serial number?

I just run the serial #, then sort through the make/model/caliber info of any hits that come back to avoid not making a match do to wrong info(unless the serial # is wrong)

Trying to decide on new state

Kentucky. We have great hunting(deer, elk, bear, birds). Great fishing (we hold the world record for smallmouth bass, and blue catfish) but we have plenty of other species as well: largemouth, rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, lake trout, tons of sunfish, pike, sauger, walleye, flathead...

    FN Herstal 20+1

The 5.7 round is like most others, it has it's place where it is useful. I myself don't like the round for any of my uses. I had a P90 for 6 months and that was about 5 months and 3 weeks too long, I went back to the 5.56 the first chance I got. But I don't know, it might be more useful in a...

    Self-defense poll to vote on

Looks like they have moved it away from the main opinion page. I guess the results weren't going the way they wanted it to. But don't worry you can find it here: http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/03/26/2710517/revoke-this-license-to-kill.html

    Laurel County Kentucky

The vast majority of elected representatives like to control the people who they represent. I just never thought I would see them try gun control here. It a losing issue in Kentucky anyway, but even more so in Laurel County. If you don't have a picture holding a gun while wearing camo, your...

    Laurel County Kentucky

That's what I thought as well. I can see it from the more liberal areas of the state, like Louisville and Lexington, but you don't get much more conservative that London, KY. But that just goes to show you gun supporters and gun grabbers are in both parties. The fiscal court is 6 republican...

I'm please to let you know that as of yesterday, 1/23/12 they have decided to drop the issue of the concealed carry ban. Keep an eye out on them, I don't want to see thing rear its ugly head again.

    Dual Lock Gun Safes

I have one on my Liberty Lincoln, I love it. I've had it for about a year, I've not had any problems out of it. I am usually in it several times a day.

Yes, I forgot to post it. The article is mainly about a synthetic marijuana ban, but they decided to throw in some gun control for good measure. The part about the gun control only got 1 line in the article(3rd paragraph from the bottom)...

    Laurel County Kentucky

While this isn't exactly a big issue to most members here I think the RKBA should worry everyone regardless of the location. The Laurel County Fiscal Court is attempting to ban the possession of concealed firearms in county buildings. While they are within their legal abilities to do so, I say...

Which State has the best gun laws?

Center console is very legal: KRS 527.020(8): "A loaded or unloaded firearm or other deadly weapon shall not be deemed concealed on or about the person if it is located in any enclosed container, compartment, or storage space installed as original equipment in a motor vehicle by its...

Best Hunting in the Lower 48

Kentucky is a decent state for hunting opportunities. Our deer, turkey, waterfowl, and small game licenses are all over the counter. We have a good elk population but its currently through a tag lottery. There is plenty of public land to hunt on. No mulies, moose, or caribou however.

    Checking for "hot" pistols?

NICS doesn't contain any stolen gun data. NCIC contains data from every stolen gun that is entered into the NCIC system. But if someone didn't bother to report it, or doesn't have a serial #, the officer didn't bother to put it in the report or enter the information into NCIC then it obviously...

This seems like a safe place to train.

Wow. People actually pay money to go to that place... I don't know any law enforcement agency that would send their officers there. They are teaching expandable baton strikes to the head. The only thing I recall about strikes to the head is DON'T!
