    Ball powder for heavier bullets

Blc(2) is one of the best 308 powders Ive used. Too 165g. Spherical powder btw. Not sure where the "ball powders are not for long range" myth comes from.

Look into Minox scopes. German reticle available (1" and 30mm tubes) . Designed in Germany. Schott glass. Assembled in Oregon or Germany depending on model. I recently installed a 2-10x50 and am highly impressed. Check for open box specials at Camera Land NY...

    Weatherby Vangaurd Series 1 Value

I understand Weatherby released the Series 2 Vangaurd to recitify minor issues with the earlier Howa Vangaurd. Local seller has a NOS Series 1 in 308, 24" barrel standard synthetic stock and wants $400. Original case and box. Unfired. Seem high to me. Weren't these $350 new? In the big picture...

BAR or for the tragically unhip, the Remington Woodsmaster (can be had cheap and later ones aren't JambMasters). 22 and 18" barrels.

    Prices of powder in 1976

Precisely. The $5.95 powders show are $24.55 in 2015 dollars which is about what I'm paying today (except at price gouging retailers like Bass Pro).

Nosler E-tip vs Accubond & Ballistic Tip

California is expanding lead-free zones. So I'm going to need to convert to copper and Nosler E-tip seems like a logical choice as my 30-06's are dialed in with handloads using 165 & 180g ballistic tips and accubonds. Both of which pretty much have the same point of impacts between the bullet...

Why are pump action rifles not popular any more?

Slide rattle is where I've had most of the noise with 7600 and 760.

Why are pump action rifles not popular any more?

Best part about Rem 760 is clean examples can be found for good prices as they do not seem to be that popular. I've been through a couple and have always liked their accuracy and durability. I find the slide action quicker and less disruptive (if not prone) for follow up shots than a bolt...

    Hornady Amax for Hunting

Thanks for the background. I search a little on the subject and it indeed looks like Hornady no longer wants to promote the product for hunting. Probably too limited in applications where it expands well? http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/showthread.php/93413-Confusing-AMax-vs-VMax-description

    Hornady Amax for Hunting

Anybody here use A-Max for hunting? These are match quality rounds with hollow points and polymer tips specifically designed for punching paper accurately. Hornady advises to not use for hunting but they seem to be popular for such, particularly in Australia. I'd never risk all the time, cost...

    Muzzle flash pics

Shuff's Mini-G "tanker" style Garand with 16" barrel really makes a big fireball, especially when shooting ball powder like BLC-2 or 748 (or Greek HXP like they are probably shooting in this video).
