Whats a gun you really lusted over, then after buying it, quickly lost interest?

Shooting out to 25 yards ... anybody have any recommendations for a consistent / accurate load? Best so far for me is 165g Speer TMJ with a mid range load of power pistol, but accuracy is bad compared to my 9mms and 357 (no surprise its not as good .. but 40 is roughly 4 times worse than 9mm...

Spent a long day at the range to determine best load for 150g. Below shows 200-yard accuracy results for 150g. 5-shot groups. The specs follows. Remington 760 30-06 pump with 3-9x40 scope shot from the bench rest. All loads with FC brass, trimmed to same case length. Neck sized. All...

What powder has the least flexibility. In other words, works well with the fewest variety of calibers and bullet weights. Excluding the 50 BMG powders. W296 seems to be a candidate (357, 41 & 44 mag).

I've been doing some varmint hunting with 165grain 30-06. 200 - 300 yards out. Damage to the vermin is extensive of course. Would like to try a flatter shooting combo for '06 that's not quite so destructive. Have not spent much time with 125 grain spitzers but, looking at trajectory...
