What's the last thing you bought at a gun show?

NIB Sig 239 NIB Kimber Pro-Tactical NIB Kershaw Knife Wanted some 45 and 40 bullets for reloading, but had already purchased enough for one show.

    Your pocket knife?

My daily pocket knife is a Kershaw Scallion. It's small, but works. I gave one to my wife for Christmas except her blade was treated with a black coating. I was carrying a Kershaw Avalanche, but wanted to cut down on the size for normal carry.

    Nightstand flashlight.

Am I supposed to keep a flashlight at my bedside? I figure the dogs would give me enough warning to draw my weapon. Then I would ask my wife where the flashlight is and she would say, "I don't know you had it last". No I didn't! Yes you did! No I did not! Yes you did to!..... I’m...

    Considering Casting My Own

I would be interested in knowing how long it takes to cast 1000 45acp bullets. I'm talking actual molding time. Anybody know?

    Which one???

Get the one that feels best for you. Either one will be a good choice. However, I think everyone should own at least one 1911.

    Dump AOL

My employer uses AOL, even though he has a ISDN link with another provider. He likes it becuase it is so easy to use. I told him I don't like it because it is so hard to use...that was so he would not ask me questions when he has problems. I rate AOL at the bottom of the heap, just above Prodigy.

Is there anything else to clean brass with....

I've been using corn cob and ground walnut shells to clean my brass. Do any of you use anything else?

    Pop, no bang.

Took 3 years and over 20K rounds before I ran into my first one. My only guess as to how it happened is being distracted while I was reloading. I normally keep a close eye on every operation while reloading. If someone comes into the garage while I'm reloading, I usually stop until they...

Dots on Your Sights: Help or Hinderance?

All my pistols have plain black sights until I purchased a Kimber Pro-Tac, it has the three dots. Trying to use the thee dots to aim, I found my self shooting high. I would prefer them to be plain black. However, for quick acquisition I can see where the 3 dots could help.

    Looking for a 8 shot 45 acp pistol...any suggestions?

I couldn't imagine not owning a 1911. That would be my first pick if I did not own one. However the Sig 220 is a fine weapon too. Can't go wrong with either of those.

    how much practice?

I shoot 100-300 rounds per week. Mostly 45acp, but also shoot 50 rounds per week with a Kahr K40.

    Ruger MKII, bolt wear

Yes that is normal. It will look worse after you get some rounds through it. The price you pay for operating it.

    Am I the only one?

Not me. My wife and I go to the range once or twice a week. We socialize and shoot with other like minded people. On rare occasions we miss a week...the stress levels build up enough during the week that we don't miss another outing for awhile.

Are your guns changing as you age?

Actually I have drifted away from the 22s and favor my 1911's much more. That's what I carry and I like to be proficient with them. I still enjoy reloading. Maybe I haven't aged enough yet.

"But guns were MADE for killing"

Guns are designed to initiate or stop aggression. Where is an aggressor likely to go to flex his muscles, a place with a lot of firearms or a place where there are few? The more firearms society has, the safer everyone will be.

Anyone get NO gun-related stuff for Christmas?

All gun related gifts. Of course, I usually buy my own Christmas gifts. It's hard to get something you don't want. I received a new Pro-Tactical Kimber. My wife received a Sig P239 and a new pocket knife.:)
