Juat speaking for myself, I sold my Glock 23 only because of the trigger. I don't know if I could find the "wall" or any other thing. I bought a S&P because I didn't hate the trigger. After a few years of using a DA revolver as a bedside tool, because I felt safer with that if I should need...
I have had good luck with HS-6 powder and 240 gr. bullet. I have acheived almost the same velocity with a max load of HS-6 as I get with a max load of H110. My revolver is a Ruger Redhawk with a 5.5" barrel. I have tested min. to max loads of HS-6 with a velocity range from 1019 fps to...
It's getting close to election time and Biden has to show he is doing something to satisfy his fans. This is what politicions do best, appear to be doing something while actually doing nothing.
Let me say I would buy all those guns at those prices, even if I did not want them. I would not sleep at night afterwards. Please find yourself a different buyer.
I think the title "brush" gun should be thought of as the opposite of "open country" gun. I think peope have been trying to "find" a definition for the term brush gun. As compared to a long barrel, long range, the brush gun has a shorter barrel for manuvering in thick forest as compared to...
Awhile ago I bought a CVA Scout in 444M to replace a 336-444 I had sold. The first shots thru it was with 3 different bullets using 2 different powders. All loads hit between .800" and 1.200" at 100 yds. I can't get my favorite 444M powder so I was trying to find a replacement. Except for...
Just a question from someone that doesn't use anything but media in my tumbler to clean/polish brass. I thought it was important that the brass sticks to the chamber walls a little during firing. Ackely seemed to think so. Why would I want to leave polish on the walls of my brass?
I like CFE BLK for my 7.62x39 reloads. I use the CCI 34 primers, Sierra 125 SP bullets (.311" dia). My loads are near Max. The rife is a Yugo SKS, without grenade launcher.
Working with a 357 Ruger security six with a 4" barrel and 158 bullets. I have found that HS-6 gives me within 40 f/s that H110 does. I do think my Ruger is giving me slower velocities than most with max loads of H110. When I had 44 mag handguns I really liked H110 for max loads and Universal...
Never killed one but I did wound one once. It was "running" at the time. The leg on the tripod holding it up decided to telescope in just at the time I fired a 165 grain bullet from my 300 Savage. It hit the metal post holding the screen. Broke the inside housing and of course bent the rod...
Going to try for the first time this year. Got a fair deal on a CVA Scout in 444 Marlin. Been working up a load with Speer 240 and 270 Deep Curl bullets. The CVA is a little heaver than I was hoping for but it will do.
In 1966, in basic we were told the reason for FMJ is that it takes two solders to carry a wounded solder off the field. It takes no one to carry a dead solder. Also a FMJ has the potential to pass thru one man and wound a second.
I think the 160 FTX sits deeper into the case than the std. 170 gr bullet giving you less powder space to begin with. Because the bullet is pointed and set to the same COL as the flat nose bullet the base sits deeper in the case.
