    Kimber Ultra ten II

That's been my experience with Kimber service. I'd already had it back to them once before I tried the smith. Re the gunsmith, he is a custom firearms maker with a great rep in N. Maine and told me up front that he didn't have much to work with re the tiny feed ramp. As for extraction. Never...

How do you feel about the War on Drugs?

Drugs were perfectly legal in the USA until 1903 and the country was doing quite well. Drugs are a health problem they shouldn't be a legal one. I was recently dismissed from a Federal jury pool because I told the court (on a drug conspiracy case) that Federal mandatory minimums were a greater...

7MM Rem Mag in 21 Inch barrel

Like Mark Twain said about the 'Allen's Pepperbox' ... if she don't bring home what you're aiming at it will fetch home something else. Besides, you can probably read at night from the muzzle-flash. Buck

opinions on .444 marlin lever action?

Yup. Go for the 45/70. It's more versatile and steeped in some damn fine tradition too. With the right load it can take anything from coyote to griz ... works so good on grizzlies that it's been years since I've even seen one here in Maine. Buck

    Marlin .444

Tuna reciepe sounds just great. Going to give it a try as soon as I bag a tuna with my 45/70. Buck ... And don't laugh. There is a fish shooting season in Vermont. Hope they have lake tuna.

    Spray Cleaners

I've been using Hornady's 'One Shot'. I ran out of Hoppe's and and figured I'd give it a try. Seems to take care of fouling as good or better than other solvent that I've tried and lubes at the same time. Haven't tried it on really heavily leaded bores yet though. Only disadvantage ... I grew up...

    Kel-tec or Tomcat?

Hi all. My vote is for the Tomcat. Purchased one for my wife. It has been very reliable. One advantage the Tomcat has over the Kel-tec is its trigger pull. A smith said there was nothing he could do about the first double action pull, but he did a great job of lightening up the single action...

    Kimber Ultra ten II

Yup, Agree on with both posts. The smith changed the angle of the TINY feed ramp as best he could and I think those who've owned one would agree that it's a nice .45 to carry. Like I said, it's been reliable with hot loads so I think I'm going to try to stick with it. But ... I wouldn't...

Maine Waiting period and Local pre-emption

Two bills are currently before the Maine legislator.LD 310 would mandate a 10-day waiting period for law-abiding citizens who purchase firearms in Maine. Sponsored by Senator Margaret Rotundo (D-16), LD 344 would amend the current preemption statute by allowing local governments to regulate the...

    Kimber Ultra ten II

Kimber Ultra ten II Feeding Problems Hi. I bougt a Kimber Ultra Ten II, it's a compact polymer frame, double stack ten round magazine 1911 style. From day one it would stovepipe or fail to feed at least once every magazine. Almost got rid of it but it's so nice to carry that I had a smith work...
