    K31 Vs Enfield .303 Carbine

I wrote my re I wrote my response before reading this. My answer is "What Boom Boom said". Except to say that open sights are probably better for bear defense than a gun with only a big hunting scope.

    K31 Vs Enfield .303 Carbine

I love your choices, but a good Marlin or Winchester 30-30 carbine would be lighter and easier to keep at hand than either the MKV Carbine or the K31. Or, better for stopping power, a Marlin 1895 in 45 Gov. If bears are truly a hazard, I would also recommend a .44 mag sidearm. Years ago, a...

I never knew I had so many anti friends until today...

Countries having successful gun control laws in the 20th Century -- and the results of those laws: 1915-1917 Ottoman Turkey, 1.5 million Armenians murdered 1929-1953 Soviet Union, 20 million people that opposed Stalin were murdered. 1933-1945 Nazi occupied Europe, 13 million Jews, Gypsies...

Ever get odd looks/awesome stories shooting a rifle?

Great story. And I can definitely understand not "buying guns that used to shoot at me"... I also think that all who served should be proud of the fact that they helped the USA survive, grow and thrive to the point where our old enemies sell us their surplus guns and ammo to affordably arm...

    Ethic implications with milsurps?

What is the quote - 'those who do not understand history are doomed to repeat it' ? "History" is not some clean, schoolbook concept. It is real and dirty. IMHO, individual ownership of guns like yours have made history less dirty because we can now easily defend ourselves - unlike...

    Always Carry a Revolver?

Where does your rifle fit into this scenario? I disagree with the absolute need for a revolver, although I do like revolvers. If you are in a situation where you always want a gun, I would say "always practice with your BUG". If you wear out your P3AT or whatever, then you may...

Nightstand gun with children in the house?

It's sad how easy it is to open up a Gunvault. It's not really a "safe", just something to keep the kids out. I agree with gun-proofing your kids, but gun-proofing their friends is much more difficult. This is where something like a Gun Vault is valuable.

    Stevens pump ID

Actually looks like a right-handed version of the Stevens Model 67 held left-handed and/or backwards (look at the Pulp Fiction poster). I do not see an ejection port. Nice little shotgun. Just one action rod limits its value IMHO.

    .22LR or 30-06?

I am not sure I understand the question. Why not "both"? You use your pistol to get to your rifle. Your pistol is just a bit undersized for now.
