I asked artificial intelligence to settle the 9mm vs 45acp debate.

Personally I think you ALL got it wrong. Look at your better half, is she slim & fast, or "wider but slower"? You got your preference there. Say no more.

    Rossi r92

Just picked one up in 454 casull. I placed the order with a LGS 2 years ago and finally Rossi made another product run.

I don't understand the popularity of the M&P Shield guns.

The Shield 45 is surprisingly soft shooting, easy to carry IWB, and it's my carry gun.

I don't understand the popularity of the M&P Shield guns.

I have Shield in 9mm, 40S&W, and .45acp. The Shield 45 is the softest shooting, most accurate among the 3. IMO, the Shield 40 recoils too violently to be a carry gun. I shot it multiple times and each time, the recoil made my thumb hit the magazine release and the magazine is ejected.

    45 colt or 44 magnum

The Ruger-only 45 Colt can be loaded to a much higher pressure than the SAAMI number you quoted above. I like the flexibility range of 45 Colt, anywhere from a cowboy load to a bear load. For a medium range load on my Ruger Blackhawk 45 colt/ 45 acp convertible to a 350 grain bear load I used...

    454 Casull fun

I took my 454 SRH to an outdoor range the other day, I used 325 gr shooting a steel target out at 100 yds. Later I went up to the target and found it punched 2 holes clean through. Impressive!

    Yet another single-stack 9mm thread....

I agree with this. (Post #53 by Safety First) Just yesterday I went to the range and shot my shields in all 3 calibers for comparison. My accuracy are .45 Shield >> 9mm >> .40S&W I was equally surprised the .45 Shield has a low recoil & smooth shooting. It's a winner.

New Background Check Policy at Walmart

Same with Alabama Edit: somehow the quote did not show up. I was referring what kcofohio said, to still need to fill out the forms except on page 2 they denote you have a CCW so no need for a background check. In reality, most FFL do it online so a background check takes merely seconds...

    9mm +P+ vs .357 mag

Fxvr5, Thank you!! It just goes to show you good idea was discovered in 1963!.

    9mm +P+ vs .357 mag

I don't get this obsession trying to make 9mm a be all and end all cartridge, even want to compete with the .357 magnum. To me, if wanting to duplicate a .357 magnum in a semi-auto, I'd start with the .357 Sig. For one, it has more room to load and burn the extra powder where the 9mm does not...

Is it time to fortify your ammo cache

I use an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of my ammo purchases and inventory. I am pleasantly surprised of my inventory. How much did you ask? I can only say I hurt my back as result of moving these ammo during my last house move. I also use it for "gap analysis" see which caliber I can...

Switched to a revolver for ccw...

But surely there are anecdotal evidence such as news articles on gun owners killed in a self defense situation because he only carries a 5 round revolver. After all, “there are dozens & dozens of examples....” available

    FN's FNX/FNS series

Walt, I have a FNS-40. Does this mean I can buy a 9mm conversion barrel and drop into the FNS-40? If so, who sells the FNS conversion barrel?

CA Resident - Ordered 1000 rounds online and store "lost or didn't receive it"

I had put in my address incorrectly (wrong street number - new house), fortunately the UPS guy recognized my name and brought them to the correct house ! (I was ordering a lot to meet the end of 2017 deadline then). Also kudos to Midway, I had another package returned to them because of wrong...
