    Loads for S&W Model 25 45 Colt

There's an issue of Handloader magazine that has some 45 Colt data for the M25, I bought it because I had one and I don't have it anymore but it has a lot of data. It's the April 2022 edition (No. 337), it's got a lot of good data from Brian Pearce, real good stuff you can order an issue from...

    Who needs 357 Dainty?

I like the .357 Mag and 44 Mag the best when it comes to my revolver cartridges. Each has their upsides with very few downsides. I use the .357 more than the 44 Mag as I do think it has advantages in most "social" settings, but that's not to take anything away from the 44 either.

Any opinions on the .30 Super Carry cartridge

I had a Shield Plus in .30SC and it shot well, found some ammo online that wasn't too unreasonable (about $15/box 50). Recoil was very similar to 9mm, maybe just a hair less but nothing major. I think the idea is sound, it's a modern day high velocity .32 (well, .312") and there are some gel...

    10mm or .45 ACP?

I've had my share of revolvers that shoot semi auto cartridges, be in Blackhawk convertibles or S&W 610's, etc. I came to the realization that for me, I'm keeping my revolvers to revolver only cartridges. The single action Blackhawk convertibles did it better, but a dedicated .45 ACP or 10mm...

    Night Sights

Night sights to me on any carry or home defense gun are a must have, not even optional. I typically run Amerigo Trooper night sights on my Glocks, I like the lime green/yellow front.

Ruger Super Blackhawk on the way

Good choice, I love unfluted cylinders. The 4 5/8" SBH is one of my favorites!

What's Special about the 44 Special.

I don't have a dedicated .44 Special anymore, but it's a very good all around cartridge. It can be easy to shoot, pokes big holes and can be loaded up warm enough to take care of most situations you would use a 44 Mag for. I can't say anything bad about the 44 Special, the only reason I don't...

Ruger Bisley 44 Magnum without roll engraving, since then!?

There is (well maybe "was") a run of stainless 4 5/8" and 5.5" Bisley .44's without engraving. https://ruger.com/products/newModelSuperBlackhawkBisley/models.html I tried to get ahold of one but was never able to. The ones in that video are the 6.5" SBH 454 and 480.

    Freedom Arms Fan Boy?

I'd love to have one, I've had many calibers over the years but I've settled on .357 Mag and 44 Mag for revolvers (except my lone S&W .500). I've got my Rugers and I've had a few BFR's and I know the next step up is a FA. Pricey for sure but at the same time, if you can resist the urge to only...

    .460 Rowland and .960 Rowland.

I guess it depends on what you want, the 357 SIG will easily outshine a 960 Rowland, I've pushed 125's past 1700 fps in a 6" barrel. The 460 Rowland is a good option, but you can get the same ballistics from .45 Super if you handload and have a compensated gun with good case support. It's a...

    Kore CC belt

Yeap you can cut them, there are inch markings on the rear so you can cut for whatever size you like, just make sure to give yourself a little extra slack.

    Your personal carry rules/guidelines

Typically I want 10rds in the gun, no less. Sometimes I carry a spare mag but 99% of the time I do not. I like revolvers and 1911's but I don't carry revolvers or 1911's. I pretty much pocket carry exclusively, not sure why but I suppose that I gravitated towards doing so because it's easier...

Yeah I have I think four KORE belts, they're great.

    400 Corbon Why?

Never had one, but the idea was okay I guess. This was before 10mm had regained some of its popularity, so it offered an easy .400" option (barrel swap) to existing .45 ACP guns. There was also the more powerful .40 Super which was a .45 Win Mag, shortened to 10mm length and necked down...

    Colt vs. S&W vs. Ruger

Comes down to if I choose DA or SA. If SA, Ruger and if DA, S&W.

.45 Auto other than 230 grain

Unless you reload, standard 230gr .45 is about as soft as it's going to get.

    Which .45ACP for home defense?

Not on your list but I have a G21 Gen5 that is stupid accurate and absolutely reliable.
