    Question about automatic fire

Yes, I completely understand, but even some weapons have rate of fires of 800 rounds/min and I think that some even fire at 1000 rounds/min. That's 17 rounds/sec! Is that still possible with such weapons?

    Question about automatic fire

Well, I really don't know about USA laws regarding automatic weapons. I'm asking this simply by curiosity (since I'll never be able to fire one). My question is about automatic weapons: is it possible to fire single rounds when shooting an automatic assault rifle (like the M4A1 carbine)? Well...

Why police officers use HP bullets?

Yes, I know that's not common for the regular police officer. Do they also use hollow point ammo on patrol rifles? Most police officers here carry .308 carbines (FAL) as their main weapon with 9mm/.40 pistols as sidearms.

Why police officers use HP bullets?

First, if this is not the place to ask this, please move/remove this thread. I made this thread by pure curiosity. From what I know, most police departments these days issue HP bullets (to decrease overpenetration). But I was thinking, isn't that a bad idea? I mean, if an officer (s) gets into a...

    Best choice for home defense?

Hey guys, just an update: I just bought my home defense gun (my first firearm). It's a Taurus revolver .38 special (8 round capacity -> +P hollow point ammo). I went to a shooting range with a friend. I got to shoot a 12 gauge shotgun, a 20 gauge and a .38 revolver. My opinions at the end: the...

How big is the spread at 50 meters?

How big is the spread of 12 gauge buckshot at a distance of 50m? Pure curiosity

    Best choice for home defense?

Oh, that explains a lot. I'm going with #2 buckshot. The shotgun with the smallest barrel length I found was 18"

    Best choice for home defense?

There is no barrel length limit for 20 gauge at all :neener: Is #00 buck still a good choice for a 20 gauge?

    Best choice for home defense?

Hey guys, I think I found the solution to my problem! I don't want the 12 gauge shotgun because it's too big due to the barrel length limit and I'm not a big fan of the .38 revolver because it's not as effective (when compared to a shotgun). It appears that 20 gauge shotguns have no limits for...

    Best choice for home defense?

Yes, the police here is not something I would trust my life to... First of all, IF someone decides to break into my house, when I call 190 (police number) it will take MINUTES for them to get here. An attacker can kill someone dozens of times in that time. Second of all, the police here is know...

    Best choice for home defense?

No, any cartridge for a handgun that surpasses 407 J of energy is illegal for civilian use here. But if the laws involving firearms change, I will definitely switch to .357

.38 Spl Revolver: 4 inch or 6 inch barrel?

Which barrel length do you recommend for me to use on a .38 special revolver for home defense? Also, is Taurus a good brand?

    Best choice for home defense?

Well, this thread is leaned towards hardware. But I kind of already made my choice. The thread was moved here, but I don't think it belongs at Strategies, Tactics and Training.
