Looks very nice, I don't mean to be critical as I know you take a lot of pride in your work and you sell these but why doesn't it cover the trigger completely. It looks like the trigger is exposed. Otherwise it looks very nice.
Husker Fan, you found a nice little holster there. That retention strap looks like it would be easy enough to replace, its gonna be matching the dye that would be tough. Also make certain that the back sides of those snaps aren't rubbing up against that shooter when its in the holster, that...
I am a holster maker and I still recommend the Tucker "Answer" for any tucked IWB needs. I don't make a tuckable holster so I always recommend his. I have one for each handgun I own. It is very similiar to the Crossbreed, but it is the original. The kydex can be leather lined, and the back...
In my opinion your best option is to hit some local gun forums and find out who in your area does custom kydex or leather holsters and go sit down with one of them and you should be able to figure out something that will work well for you.
I messed around with leather back when I was in high school years ago, but started messing with holsters and belts and that sort of thing a few years ago. A whole lot of trial and error. If you want watch someone make a holster from beginning to end and do it the right way there is a fellow...
Yeah, you don't want to use one of them meat eatin cows... Sounds to me like a way to make it look somewhat like vegetable tanned without using actual vegetable tanned leather.
When I first got into holster making one of the first things I was told was to make sure the leather you are using...
Here is my opinion on picking out a tuckable. I must have either Kydex belt clips or leather, I will not use metal. Its a good way to tear up a good gunbelt and not only that scratch your car, or anything else you accidentally bump into with it. My opinion and I'm sure it will get some other...
Here is what I tell all my customers. Place one wrap of wax paper around your firearm with the wax side out, place in your holster and leave it overnight. Then do 15 -20 draws from it, If it is still to tight for you repeat the steps above but use two layers of wax paper. Then three layers if...
Nice looking holsters there Markush. Question for you, how is the frog to work with, I have been thinking about ordering some for a while but from what I hear it is hit or miss on quality of it.
Thanks Smalls, I appreciate that..
Saitek, thats some nice looking stuff there but if you don't mind I have a recommendation, I wouldn't put any metal hardware on a holster in a spot that will rub on your pistol, just a little movement and it will start really wearing on your nice expensive...
Thanks Rayban and Bamabiker,
Bama I use a Tippmann Boss for my stitching with 277 thread on top and bottom with a angled chisel point needle. You have some beautiful carving there Bamabiker.
While all 1911's are similiar there are some differences, I would recommend finding out the holster makers mold type and checking out pictures of it and comparing it to your model to make sure it is similiar enough. JMHO
Even on my website under the models I have a disclaimer that is about this.
